Two years ago I bought a Garcia Revo Inshore that felt great, cast great and one day the side plate fell off into the gulf at a near shore rig.

Revo inshore or better yet toro beast is a nice salt reel! Does it all jig, cast, bottom, surf, Muskie, froggin! Love mine caught many keeper fish including a 43 inch Striper jiggin 7oz jigs!

All I use is Revo's and they hold up great, except the MGX, magnesium and saltwater don't mix. I would suggest the Revo Sx ,just for the fact that it has a magnetic cast control.

I was given 3 different Revos a few years ago and 2 of the 3 have held up great. One had some of the metal trim turn green even with rinsing after each trip.

I have the Revo STX HS and, having been a die-hard Shimano fan, I can tell you that IMO it is now my pick of all the baitcasters on the market. Smooth long casts and smooth powerful drag system.

I have the older model SX but I never use it. I couldn't dial it in as I could my shimanos. The drag wasn't as smooth either.

I myself have two Revo X Inshore LP's (sealed baitcasters for salt) that are 100-200 size reels that I use on 7FT and 8FT rods for back bay and light inshore

I had two abu and they started deteriorating so fast it was nuts. Literally a month after new I saw tarnish and flaking.

Just from personal experience Abu Revros have always outperformed Lews for me. My Ardents are on the same level as Lews but seem to cast farther..

Stick with your Revos they work great, the only problem with them is the chrome plated pieces like to turn green and look like ****.

Right now I have a Revo Toro, which I've used jigging, chunking and even trolling - one of the most best all around reels I've ever owned.

Abu is Abu and the revo series are nice light and smooth, but do not hold up in saltwater.

The MGX is by far the farthest casting reel out of all the revos, new and old. They are all great reels, ABU is all I use in baitcasters.

I have only used it 2 days and I threw a few backlashes before I got the adjustments dialed in properly.

Avoid the Abu revo inshore.

I have 2 stx-hs revo's and really like them, they have I think around 22-24 lbs of drag available and the fast gear-ratio.

I like the MgX, but not sure it's worth the big price tag.

I think the revos would be hard to beat in this division for inshore fishing by virtue of their bigger drags and gearing.

My Abu STX is my favorite reel. Silky smooth, long casts. Do yourself a favor and pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Revos stand up to my kind of punishment better than any other reel on the market. I can't afford to use anything else.

The MGX is new technolegy with the brakes!! It is also the lightest reel made!! Out of the box the casts are very good

I've been fishing with the Revo STX for a few months now, and love it. I now use my Chronarchs as backups.

BBCBoards▲ recommend

I am messing with the Revo X right now as a punching reel. So far, the feel and functions are rather nice.

I own and use two of the STX-HS models and they are fantastic. I sold my new Curado and a new Calcutta.
