Saatva Classic Mattress

Based on 168 comments across 3 communities
TL;DR
Best-in-class edge support and a springy innerspring feel some sleepers love, but complaints dominate: many find it far firmer than advertised, sagging and body impressions within a year or two, and back pain; warranty exchanges often yield only a topper.

36% of 168 verified owners recommend the Saatva Classic Mattress.

after two weeks waking every morning with back pain I sent the Saatva back

The classic didn’t work for me cause I felt movement from spouse when he flip flopped.

A few months ago I purchased a Saatva Classic Mattress with plush top. Life changing.

Purchased the luxury firm and absolutely love it.

Good news - it's comfy. I didn't need anywhere near the suggested break in period to feel comfy. I do like the sleeping experience. Bad news - in the middle (dead center) at both head and foot the mattress is sagging.

I moved on to the Saatva Classic mattress in the "plush" version, but this is still hard, and I wake up after 5 hours with pain, because it's still way too firm to "conform" to someone my size.

I loved the Saatva Classic mattress in plush soft but the zoned lumbar support created a reverse hammock effect for me.

I honestly can say it’s a great mattress.

Have a Saatva classic mattress myself, unfortunately not picking up from OP's first-night impressions and my back pain seems to be getting worse. Will have to return and replace it, probably with a more premium option like you.

What stood out most for me was how different it felt from memory foam. Easier to move around on. I did think the motion transfer was a little more noticeable than reviews made it sound though.

I can highly recommend you my Saatva classic mattress. If you like a springy mattress with an old school feel it’s perfect.

The Saatva classic mattress we tried absolutely did not work out and it's being returned in a couple of days

it's been fantastic sice night one- we love it and will definitely order again when it's time.

I’m a restless sleeper too and over time I started noticing the springs more than the comfort layers. Switched over to a latex hybrid recently and it’s been a night-and-day difference. Way more responsive and it doesn't feel like I'm fighting the mattress every time I move.

My parents bought the softer one and loved it. I tried the same model and woke up stiff every morning. Quality seemed fine though. More of a comfort mismatch issue.

hands down best mattress I've ever had.. going on 15 years and it's like new.

I have the Plush model. Its been really great. But the mattress i had before was a horrible piece of junk so who knows. The saatva did start to sag a few years ago. The sag is now about 3 inches deep.

When it arrived, I found it to be softer than I expected, and like you, I felt like I was sinking in too much, especially around the edges. I constantly worried about falling off, and it just didn't provide the support I needed for my back. After a few weeks, I decided to return it

It never developed those hammock spots my previous bed got after a year. Only downside is the top layer fabric started looking worn faster than I expected, even though the support underneath stayed intact.

I recently purchased a SAATVA Classic mattress and foundation that I'm very happy with. I chose it because I wanted combination springs and foam since I sleep hot.

For the first 9 months it was great. I slept like a baby. Suddenly it began to sag in my area. I am plus sized but I am 220, and their limit is 300 per side so I figured I'd be fine to get the classic. That was wrong, I guess. There is a noticable dip. If I move over a few inches my right hip feels like it's sitting on a pillow.

I have a bad lower spine that had improved so much when the mattress was new but now am in a fair amount of discomfort and aching every night on this thing. I would not recommend

we went with the Saatva Classic Mattress, Queen : 14.5” Luxury Firm, and I can tell you it has made a huge difference to him. I also like it because it sleeps cool. Very satisfied with our decision.

We got the Saatva Classic Luxury Firm, and while it is comfy and we both sleep fine on it, we would have preferred something a little firmer.
