“Just before bed, I would put 2.5 gal in a pot on the woodstove to heat it, not to boil, and poured it back in to warm the tank. It never went below 70F, partly due to the woodstove. I only fed the fish twice during the outage.....minimal granules.”— defsentenz on Reddit
“My 40g had no canisters but had an Aquaclear70 and Aquaclear50, and I'll soon be adding an entry level Eheim cannister to that.”— puromyc1n on Reddit
“Haha thanks! I wish I could get some high tea pics! Very simple set up. Aquaclear70 HOB with purigen and chemipure and a bit of filter floss. Orbit Marine Pro Led. MP10 quiet drive. Smart ATO. I dose two part daily.”— Hyemp on Reddit
“I am also very new to different kind of filters however I've been researching for myself recently. I think going for a bigger size with a material cheaper than glass is smart, your turtle is going to be happy. Just make sure that the container is durable and healthy.”— montwt on Reddit
“I am using aquaclear70 for filtration. Subtrate is pool filter sand. For CO2, I use a powerade bottle with yeast and sugar mixed, air tube has end of chop stick shoved in, that bubbles up into output flow of filter. I use Flourish once a week and Excel twice a week.”— MacPack79 on Reddit
“I started with two. Lotls have a large bioload. When i upgraded to a 60 gallon,(he grew at lightning speed), i ended up with a total of 6 filters. Four sponges and two aquaclear70 hobs. Seems to be the sweet spot for my guy. Lol. But its better to have too many, than not enough.”— Kymmy442 on Reddit
“I have an aquaclear70 modified to serve as a refugium for my 20g long. Growing out chaeto pretty well. Also has filter floss, phosguard, and purigen in the bottom compartment below the refugium. Also experimenting with a DIY airstone skimmer, might try posting the results after a few weeks.”— Josm315 on Reddit
“FYI, Fluval bought aquaclear. It's now something like "aquaclear by Fluval". My aquaclear70 says fluval on the lid.”— USFbulls420 on Reddit
