Chemex Classic Series

TL;DR
Owners who stick with the Chemex love it for the cleanest, best-tasting pour-over cup they've found, wrapped in a design that makes brewing feel like a ritual. The trade-offs are real: the glass is fragile, the technique is fussy enough to frustrate beginners, and the thick proprietary filters slow the brew while adding ongoing cost. It rewards people willing to dial in their pour and handle it with care, and frustrates anyone wanting fast, foolproof coffee.

62% of 13 verified owners recommend the Chemex Classic Series.

I don't like the amount of paper and resulting prewetting water, but I love the looks. Not sure I like the filtering either, very clear and little body compared to V60?

Over the years we have bought many fancy coffee makers. This one makes the best coffee https://www.amazon.com/Chemex-Classic-Pour-over-Glass-Coffeemaker/dp/B0000YWF5E

an open top brewer like the clever or a Chemex in BRC is an invitation to add playa dust to your brew. A closed top press pot makes much more sense.

I love Chemex but if you haven’t used them you will make a mess and have terrible coffee. Give guests a normal simple drip coffee maker.

I'm a fan of the [Chemex](https://www.amazon.com/Chemex-Classic-Pour-over-Glass-Coffeemaker/dp/B0000YWF5E/). It's a pour over coffee system.

Personally a Chemex in the morning after waking up in a desert ain't what I want. Too delicate and fussy. Give me some body and oomph.

Chemex sounds nice and all but if I stayed at a place that had ONLY that for making coffee I’d be pissed.

I personally think that pour over coffee is just as good or better than a french press, and way better than the drip coffee makers.

It is fragile. One piece of glass with a wooden collar means one drop on a tile floor and you are buying another one.

I'm a big fan of the Chemex. I've tried 3 different styles of pour over and Chemex is the only one I really liked and stuck with.

Chemex is base of borosilicate glass its a very different and more expensive production process. You can keep it warm on a low stover burner, don’t try that with a mason jar.

Out of all the pour overs I've used, chemex has been my favorite, producing the best tasting and cleanest cup. Bummer they are so fragile. And compared to most other pourovers the brew time is unfortunately longer.

It does pour through faster than the Chemex - I think the Chemex filter slows the process and makes the coffee have better flavor.

Last month I dropped mine and I ordered a new one right after I cleaned up the glass
