“In my opinion the pros are 100% worth the extra cost. The urethane plates and not having the wrist cage makes a huge difference. The quality of the pros is also much much better than the elites. No flaking paint or spotty welds.”

“Sold my iron masters and got powerblock elites. I hated fiddling with the plates and screw mechanism and thinking through the increments. The powerblocks only take a few seconds to dial in.”
“Fussing with the 2.5 lb adder weights is kind of annoying.”
“I feel like I’m in a weird minority that doesn’t hate the powerblock elite wrist guards. I have 8.25-8.5” wrists.”
“I’ve used the elites the past few weeks. They’re a solid adjustable dumbbell, especially priced at $428. They have a flat, yet grippy rubber handle. Compared to the pro, they have a slightly smaller footprint. I think this may be due to the urethane coating on the pros. The smaller footprint is more forgiving if you decide to go with 90lb PBs, but I haven’t”
“the elite exp powerblocks are made in china according to a lil gold sticker, maybe thats why they arent compatible with powerblock elite series. Kinda scummy if you ask me”
“I have the PowerBlock Elite set. Got it on Amazon a couple years ago. I got the 5-50 set, but you can buy the add-ons to go up to 90lbs per hand. It takes a little time to do the 2.5 and 5lb adjustments (inserting the weights requires taking off all the big "plates"), but I was able to manage it for several Beachbody workouts.”
“I have a pair of busted PowerBlock Elite EXP - both blocks have badly warped plates; one block is functional but doesn't fit the expansions (I've tried) the other is completely useless.”
“Really loving them so far.”
“I dropped $299 on the [PowerBlock Elite Adjustable Dumbbell Set](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G7RHGNY/ref=twister_B00VEAH5SA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) earlier this year and it's allowed me a ton of flexibility to do free weight workouts at home.”
“I have the 2020 Elite EXP. One pair fits perfectly but the other is a little off so there are gaps between the weights and it sticks when swapping weights.”
“However, I just noticed how some of the plates are really warped or angled outward. I can’t tell if this is supposed to be normal, or if it was damaged during the shipping/manufacturing process.”
“I have a pair of dumbbells like that and a set of Powerblock Elite that I replaced them with. The reason for the change is they take way too long to adjust the weight and are pretty awkward to do so. Powerblock is honestly weird to use since it's not a traditional dumbbell but time is my most important thing so I found Powerblock to be better.”
“For anyone who ordered the Powerblock Elite EXPs from Amazon, is there a significant gap between some of the plates? One of my dumbbells has a pretty big gap that's bothering the hell out of me.”
“how should you adjust the PowerBlock Elite selector pin when first unboxing? The tethering cord is too short to allow it to select a rail, so either the knot connecting the pin to the top rail should be undone or you have to stretch out the tether cord whenever selecting a weight.”
“I had the powerblock elites and the 90 lb extensions. I guess they were loud but honestly I wouldn’t buy a more expensive set just because they weren’t as loud.”
“Just bought a powerblock elite dumbbell 'new' and it came with scuffed paint on practically every edge where the parts nest within each other.”
“I have the powerblock elite that's expandable to 90lbs and I really like it so far. It's a little bulky when you have it at max weight but you're not stuck with a fixed length like the bowflex when you're using lighter weights (30 lbs or below). My only complaint is the plastic things that lock the extra plates into place. I think some models have them as”
“Received my Powerblock Elite 5-50 yesterday ordered 9/11. One of them came bent, got in touch with PB customer service and they are sending a replacement. Great customer service experience overall”
“they have not bent, dented, or messed up at all and I use them almost daily. I think the way work great as adjustable space savers, but if I had the space and money I would get individual dumbbells.”
“I actually prefer them to the [Powerblock Elite dumbbells](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G7RHGNY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that I bought and returned, and they're less than half the price.”
“I have Powerblock Elite 90s. They can be upgraded to 120lbs each. I personally like dumbbells better, especially for a home gym. Leg workouts are a bit awkward at first, but completely doable. I've noticed much better strength gains after switching to dumbbells.”
“I have the powerblock elites and their clips break if you drop the weights. I've had to replace two clips so far. Very annoying.”
“the plates were scratched pretty deep, definitely looked used even.”
