What Daiwa Tatula CT Baitcast Reel owners say

I have a Tatula SV and it is a very nice reel and very versatile, but I think the "ease of use" (easy brake adjustments/no backlashes) comes at the cost of some distance compared to my Curados (at least for me).

I haven’t used the Shimano but the Tatulas are great reels. I have 3 Type Rs and will be getting an SV TWS for my next rod. They just fit my hand well and I’ve been really pleased with them so far.

Me personally I prefer the original Tatula or the Tatula elite. I hate the SV series as it seems to rob me of a lot of distance on my cast and or require more effort to get the same distance.

What Shimano SLX Baitcast Reel owners say

I have one Curado DC and two SLX DC's.. absolutely love both of them.. can launch a bait further than I ever have before.

I've got some Curdo's and 1 SLX version, used a scorpion DC a decent amount as well. I think they are awesome. I use them for spinnerbaits, crankabaits, spybaits etc. Stuff that you huck and wind.
School Master on BBCBoards
They have performed better than my Curado(s) and significantly better than my SLX.
