“At the time I had purchased two of these heaters, both heaters gave errors, one within 30 days or so, the other went a few months before it crapped out. I returned both.”
“My fluval E300 states you can mount at 45 degree angle. The warmer water rises directly up and thus doesn't flow past the thermostat and give a higher than expected reading.”
“I have a Fluval E300, which has worked great so far.”
“I was having a similar issue with my Fluval E300. Someone else suggested that I place it completely horizontal, in the bottom third of the tank, as close to the filter intake as possible. Worked like a charm”
“It’s the worst heater I’ve ever bought. It looks nice with the digital display, but it’s completely useless. It just stays on blue and doesn’t heat the water at all.”
“I am using two Fluval E300 heaters on my tank. I like them because they have a plastic cover over the heating element and have a digital temperature readout.”
“Ive only had it a week, but it seems to be working well. I have it mounted sideways in the tank.”
“The turtletherm was struggling alone but the Fluval works really well and would probably work fine alone.”
“So maybe I should send it back for a replacement since it only seems to let me adjust the temp down? I really want to love the heater, I just need it to work! Haha”
“I put it in my 75 gallon tank which was already at 82 degrees), plugged it in, set it to 82F. I woke up the next morning, temp was 79.”
“I just got one and it's doing the same thing. Blue light for hours, no change in temperature reading, however, a 2nd digital thermometer is showing increasing temperature.”
“in my opinion and from person experience I've loved having the Fluval E300. You just have to make sure it has a lot of flow going over or through it or it will flash LF for low flow.”
“I usually just ignore the LF warning. My heater is always the same orientation, right next to the filter, and some days it decides it is LF for like 5 minutes then carries on in the green for weeks.”
“As for a heater, I use a Fluval E300. Built in electronic thermostat that's always on and it has a covering so fish don't burn themselves.”
“My e300 and e200 are doing the same thing. I just ordered an Eheim for both tanks. Fluval should reimburse us for these. No excuse”
“Currently have a Fluval e300 in a 75 gal. It has a color indicator which is nice. No complaints so far.”
“I had the exact same problem on a new E200. Swapped out at the store, and new one works just right.”
“My latest issue with this heater is i cant lower the temp using the knob. It will only allow me to increase but not decrease.”
“I have 2x fluval e300 in my turtle tank, I think there the best heater on the market imo.”
“it displays the 'LF' for low flow for hours on end and then sometimes it doesnt. Nothing has changed and ive had it a good few months and its never said it before. Its literally next to my fx6 outlet and even on full blast it doesnt change.”
“My own theory is that it's a design flaw in whatever they use to detect LF as I know mine have flow.”
“They have some issues but are probably the best heaters you can get.”
“I have the fluval e300 and love it.”
“I put my air stone directly under it to help stop the low flow message. It worked most of the time at stopping the message but I got annoyed with it and bought a different heater. Plus it was struggling in my tank even though the wattage should have been sufficient.”
