TL;DR
Owners are genuinely split on this one. Plenty say it just works, mounts anywhere they want, and has run fine for a year or two with solid night vision, decent video, and dependable two-way talk at a good price. But about as many are frustrated that it misses motion or stops alerting even with a strong signal, drains its battery fast so you're constantly recharging, and leans on Wi-Fi plus a paid subscription to actually save your recordings.

I have a Ring Stick Up Cam Battery installed here in Minnesota running 2 years already and still working fine.

I will say this though: the one time I needed the stick-up camera to talk to someone at the door it worked flawlessly. I was able to catch the person at the door, start up a conversation, and have a brief chat and it all worked just as advertised.

Recordings stop at 30 seconds, regardless of whether activity is still going on. This is a major flaw! Burglars can simply intentionally, strategically trigger the camera, see the blue light, and wait 30 seconds until it goes out before entering your property! This is with a new Ring Stick Up Cam Battery purchased in December 2019.

I don't have any that are wall mounted to make it easy to change batteries. I have them sitting on top of things but you should be able to wall mount them without any issues. I would suggest getting an extra battery or two with a dual charger if you have multiple cameras. It takes hours to charge a battery and you don't want a security cam out of action that

I have 5 ring stick up cams (battery) outside, 4 have nothing protecting them from the elements - no issues with heavy rain/wind. The only issue I have is high humidity makes the camera lens fog up (this is rare where I live), but it goes away on it's own or I wipe it off.

I've bought a ring stick up cam, battery, didn't tell me I needed the internet, thought phone would be enough, now can't get suitable WiFi for it to work.

We use them for this. At 0.5-2.5m. At fairly high sensitivity they work reasonably well for recording foxes, cats, hedgehogs and the occasional crow. Video is fine for us, but I’ve nothing to compare it with really. At about 0.6m. Its fairly terrible at detecting birds on the bird feeder. It can get the bloody squirrel, and the wind swing the feeders. But mo

Two Ring Stick Up cams (V1) with solar panels. Find during the day, LOUSY night vision (not more than 20 feet and very hard to see anything). Solar panels do a good job of keeping them charged IF you get two hours a day of sunlight.

We've had one mounted next to our door for some months now, and it works fairly well.

The Indoor Cam, Stick Up Cam, and Floodlight Cam are decent but I was very surprised to find that they lack basic features like schedule when they're on/off and some other basic things. Their object detection is about 10 years behind too.

Ring Stick-up Cam (battery, no solar panel) is also working just fine; battery does need to come in the house when charging, though.

Ring Stick Up Cam Battery (or maybe Solar) does not detect motion well (the same with wireless battery powered Ring Doorbells). It's hit and miss, unfortunately, at least in my experience. Their wired version with constant power tend to produce better experience.

Getting the right moounts for the stick up cam is a hassle and so is battery charging but if you just have 1 or 2 extra batteries ready to go, its not that big of a deal. I may charge them once every 1 to 3 months depending on activity on the cam.

I use several Ring stick up cams (battery) around my house. They work really well!

we soon learned that Ring cameras (we have doorbell, flood, spotlight, stick up and indoor) are great "convenience cameras" and usually (but not always) barely adequate "security cameras." The biggest security cons are: Wireless, WiFi dependent, no local storage and only record when motion activated.

Batteries last between 1 month and 3 months depending on activity. And heaps of customization available like the motion areas, what cameras are on and when ect, multiple secondary accounts alexia compatibility, they also detect people and motion so you can limit notifications. Very happy with the product and very easy to use.

I have the same in my backyard. I recommend getting the solar panel for it. After 2 weeks running on battery. I couldn’t wait for the solar panel to arrive. Zero regret.

The quality is great, night vision, has a two way talk system so you can yell at the burglars (lol) and a siren which I'm yet to need, thank God. Battery life is pretty good too considering I've been watching them every 2 minutes jumping at every little noise. They're still about 95% battery. I'm expecting they'll last a few months which is fine by me. It o

RSSI is -59, no VPN on phone. Was using a Mikrotik hapAC router but now switched to a Ubiquiti UniFi system with a UniFi 6 Pro AP. Both system same issue. In fact, it's just done it again overnight and my Ring app preview window says last updated the preview screenshot 10 hours ago. Went in and tried to click Live to it not being available, five minutes late
