Owners love the Wyze Cam v4 for its genuinely sharp 2.5K image, rock-bottom price, and the fact that you can record to a microSD card without paying a subscription. The flip side is real: many feel burned that event features now sit behind the Cam Plus paywall, and a notable number hit night-vision/IR defects, offline and wifi drops, or cameras that brick early. It's a strong-value pick as long as you go in knowing the trade-offs.

Owners are genuinely split on this one. Plenty say it just works, mounts anywhere they want, and has run fine for a year or two with solid night vision, decent video, and dependable two-way talk at a good price. But about as many are frustrated that it misses motion or stops alerting even with a strong signal, drains its battery fast so you're constantly recharging, and leans on Wi-Fi plus a paid subscription to actually save your recordings.

Many owners report that HomeBase 3 firmware updates broke their cameras, killing notifications and motion detection until Eufy pushed another fix, only for the problem to keep coming back. Batteries dying suddenly, units going offline and refusing to re-sync, and weak, slow solar charging are the other big complaints, with several people switching to external panels or USB power to keep cameras alive. The 4K picture and no-subscription local storage are genuinely well liked, but enough owners hit serious reliability failures that this is a real concern, not a minor one, and many regret the buy.

Owners are mostly frustrated with this camera, above all by battery life that runs down in a few weeks to a couple months and drains even faster in cold weather. Many also feel pushed toward a paid Nest Aware subscription to get usable recording history, and complain it misses events and pairs with a slow, crash-prone app. Bright spots like sharp daytime video, easy setup, and a strong magnetic mount aren't enough to outweigh the recurring complaints.
