NEMO Tensor Elite

Based on 10 comments across 1 community
TL;DR
The Nemo Tensor Elite delivers genuinely impressive weight and packed size for ultralight backpackers, and owners praise how quiet and warm it is for its class. But opinions are split: reports of tears, pinhole leaks, and a very slippery surface leave many questioning whether the thin construction justifies the premium price. It's a niche pad that rewards careful setup and gentle handling rather than a clear-cut pick for everyone.

Make sure you set up on a super horizontal surface, as the material is super slippery. I returned my reg 20" wide version cause a bit more weight was worth it in this regard.

I Just picked up a NEMO Tensor Elite on sale, weight for just the pad is 240g exact. Ive seen a few posts about it being above spec so thought I’d share.

Lately I’m using the nemo tensor elite UL short mummy. It is lighter and higher R than the Uberlite.

long vertical tear on the top surface, but no signs of puncture, stress, or anything else; if you ignore the blowout this thing is pristine. Sleeping in my X-mid Pro 1, I rolled over, and out of nowhere the air just vanished.

Using a thinlite pad or some other foam underneath is going to be mandatory, aside from the increased puncture risk I could also see this being super slippery on a tent floor since the 10D fabric is so slick. Weighs 219g compared to the spec 215g, so pretty spot on as far as inflatables go.

Just recieved my tensor elite today. Pretty impressed. It feels way more durable than uberlite. But it's slippery as hell. That is my only gripe. For 8.5 oz though I'm not complaining. The pack size is also pretty remarkable. It's literally the size of a coffee cup.

Mine got a pinhole leak at the start of a thru hike. Trying to submerge it in a public bathroom sink was fun.

make sure you have good repair skills. My dog pawed my pad and ripped a 3" gash in it. Tenacious tape plus glue got it all back in shape but it wasn't an easy repair.

I have a bunch of nights on my short mummy without complaint or issue, once I put some silicone grip on it. The first night was on a polycryo groundsheet and the combination was ludicrously slippery.

My Tensor Elite weighs 9.1oz by itself on my scale. Is yours 8.5?
