Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm NXT

TL;DR
Owners overwhelmingly praise the XTherm NXT as one of the warmest, lightest pads they've used, with many trusting it on snow and in deep cold for years. Comfort is the main divide: dialing in the inflation level (often a touch underinflated) makes it heavenly for most, but a minority find it bouncy, noisy, or hard on their back. A few report air-retention problems, and the price is steep, so it's a confident pick for cold-weather use as long as you're willing to fine-tune it.

71% of 24 verified owners recommend the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm NXT.

Still not the most comfortable pad I've owned but it's worth the 1+ lb weight break.

I have an NXT in wide/long (I'm very tall) and I must say, it's amazing. It's warm and much more comfortable than what I've used in the past. I definitely sleep better since getting it.

Second night was a bit better as I did deflate it a bit. I think I definitely need to play around with the inflation level. But either way I couldn't sleep on my back.

This pad is for me, either incredibley comfortable or hurts my back.

I have this same pad and I’ve hiked about 3000 miles with it. I love it! I don’t use a pad underneath it but it does have 4 or 5 patches on it but still going strong!

Maybe one or two uses and then it doesn’t hold air. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong because I’m always very careful with them

I found the regular width terrible but love the wide

I'm 6'3"/190cm and love the XTherm Max - the big size is super comfy and amazing for my size - the regular works but it a bit tight Not too bad with crinkles too

The warmth and weight of the NXT are incredible, but I can't get past the bouncy-ness, even when deflated a bit.

I slept on a neoair it was uncomfortable and noisy I switched to a Nemo tensor

I've put one of these(or the last, nearly identical version) down directly on snow, and as soon as you lay down you can feel your body heat reflect back at you

Good choice on the pad. I did a TON of research on pads and this is absolutely the best one. I also have the rectangular one and it’s perfect.

My pad looks like it's half-deflated, but it's pretty comfy. I prefer to sleep on my stomach or side, but I can still get a good night's sleep on my back if it's half-inflated. If it's fully inflated, my back will kill me.

Xtherm wide is king. Durable, warm, and still quite light. I use mine year round, but I often camp where it's cold, even in summer.

I upgraded to a wide and long xtherm, and it’s lighter and warmer and I don’t need closed cell foam pad underneath it any more

I have this pad and love it! It is uncomfortable for me to be fully inflated, but a touch underinflated is fantastic.

I used an Xtherm pad and old MEC Drake 0C sleeping bag with 3 layers of long johns to and bottom and was cozy

I got cold and uncomfotable so I bought the largest xtherm. I never use the xlite anymore. Money well spent.

I generally us my xtherm and 0F quilt for anything down below -5C and I'm good to -15C comfortably

Reddit▲ recommend

sleeping on it is heavenly. I’ve slept on less comfortable mattresses lol

Reddit▲ recommend

Few punctures with Xlite pads and no punctures/leaks with my Xtherm.

My xtherm was a beast and is still working very well today

Great pad - and well worth the price.

Haven’t had any issues with either.
