HyperX Cloud Alpha

Based on 47 comments across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners keep these around for years and praise how good they sound for both gaming and music, how comfortable they stay over long sessions, and how tough they hold up, with many pairs still working and looking new after four to six years. The detachable mic and cable add convenience, though the mic is just decent and the sound can come across muddy or weak on directional cues without some EQ tweaking. Overall a dependable pick that owners feel punches above its price.

68% of 47 verified owners recommend the HyperX Cloud Alpha.

The alphas are great for gaming, I can know where the enemy is coming from

at first I bought a pair of hyperx cloud alphas which sounded great but wasn’t amazing for directional and locational audio

The Hyperx Cloud Alpha (a gaming headset) sounds better than the DT770, and most closed backs under $200.

My HyperX Cloud Alpha lasted 1.5 years, Cloud II 2.5 years, Logitech g935 for 4 years and the Blackshark v2 just died after the 2 years warranty expired.

At home I use a gaming headset which is decent enough (HyperX cloud Alpha) but I wouldn't buy a gaming headset again.

I bought my hyperx cloud alphas 3 years ago and take good care of them, used only for gaming on my Xbox (which was at least once a week) and the right ear quit working as apparently the wiring inside is really fragile with them.

Love my Alpha’s that I’ve been using for 4 years now, but I’d take my 560s over them any day for gaming.

Hyperx Cloud Alpha are decent if you use parametric EQ with them to fix dips in their response.

I have a HyperX Cloud Alpha which works great. I've worked from a cafe before and asked coworkers how it sounded. They said they couldn't even tell there was any background noise.

I own some hyperX cloud alphas i got on sale for $50 five years ago and still use them. I changed pads once, removed the mic and got a seperate one. This is my recommendation.

I had the same feeling when I switched from my Gaming headset (HyperX Cloud Alpha) to DT 770.

the wired HyperX cloud Alpha paired with the Roccat Juke stereo / 7.1 USB sound card gives the HyperX cloud Alpha a better EQ and presets and you get way better surround sound when gaming

the headset is HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming. Not high end by any means but I've absolutely loved the sound of it for gaming games, so much that I bought a second pair.

The mic works fine

My ears usually complain after having a headset on for a long time, but the materials on this are soft and they don't squish my ears. The sound is the good quality that you would expect from HyperX.
