Sony a6700

Based on 63 comments across 3 communities
TL;DR
A compact, hybrid APS-C standout: class-leading autofocus, in-body stabilization and strong video win near-universal praise. The few caveats are overheating during long video and weaker low-light reach than full-frame.

83% of 63 verified owners recommend the Sony a6700.

I had the a6700 and while it got great daylight shots, the low light ones

I own both the A6700 and A7CR and haven't noticed any practical difference in IBIS performance between them.

If I shoot at 24fps or 30fps I don't get any overheating. I do get overheating if trying to record at 4k 60p, so I only do that for short, intentional clips.

I can conform the IBIS is the same as in the A6600. Not the best but sufficient for short videos.

I use the A6700 a lot more, simply because I don’t need the extra resolution or the larger sensor, most of the time.

I do pro work with my a6700. But every time I go out with just it I am anxious until the moment I dump the card(s) to the computer. Just one card slot is dangerous.

i recently bought a6700 too with latest firmware 1.03 i also noticed the battery drains quite fast and the cam gets quite warm on standby too...this is my first dissapointment with the camera

Almost immediately I noticed that a high ISO shot feels much more usable on the A7iii.

The A6700 is a far more capable body.

I have an a6700 and it grabs on to birds pretty well, but its still not perfect.

Biggest qualm is overheating. I shot a short a couple weeks ago and was fine, but the camera did get hot and needed to chill out after a few hours. If you’re shooting higher fps it’ll def get hot

I would say the a6700 is undoubtedly the better choice (stabilization is a game changer)

the problem with the sonya6700 is the low light perfomance. So i want to get fullframe for better lowlight perfomance

I've owned both and the 6700 is a big step up because of IBIS and improved auto-focus.

I have the Sony a6700 and the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens and it's a brilliant combo.

I also sold my Sony A6700 for it because I don’t shoot raw and Sony JPEGs are not for me.

I own the A6700 which hasn't gotten any new features since release.

The Sony is definitely more advanced and updated compared to the 2013 Nikon.

IBIS is a thing on the a6700 which helps in lower light too.

I got the a6700 and am really happy with the SOOC look

Reddit▲ recommend

The AF on the a6700 is exceptionally better.

the Sony a6700 has just as bad / even worse overheating than the Fuji, but if you shoot **moving** automotive content, I highly recommend the Sony purely for its AF and 4K 120 capability.

I have the a6700 with the 70-350 and it’s a stellar combo, it always amazes me at the quality I can get with it considering the (relatively) small size.

The a6700 has so many ways to autofocus on things (like bird eyes!) that I'm just beginning to climb that learning curve. And I'm very happy to do so.
