Philips Norelco Series 9000

Scored on 9 verified owner verdicts, from 84 comments read across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners of the Norelco Series 9000 are largely satisfied, with several saying it's worth the roughly $100 price tag and reporting no problems or regrets since buying it. A smaller number of comments raise isolated gripes, like the blade not cutting close enough for one owner's taste, trimmer heads coming loose and spilling hair debris, or a box arriving missing a listed attachment, but none of these complaints recur often enough to call a pattern. Much of the remaining discussion is owners comparing model numbers (9510, 9520, 9525, 9575, 9580) and sourcing decisions rather than product performance itself.

67% of 9 verified owners recommend the Philips Norelco Series 9000, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Turns out that I’m actually missing a piece that’s listed as #1 in the manual

Decent but I wouldn't pay 70 pounds for that. The blade simply doesn't cut deep enough for me.

I’ve got a 9000. It’s great for the beard but I get every bit as good, if not better beard trim with my One Blade and trimmer attachment.

    Reddit▼ don’t recommend

The heads would fall off, often spilling the ground up beard debris.

    Reddit▲ recommend

Its good. Using it on regular basis. Would have felt guilty paying the 100 dollars otherwise.

    Reddit▲ recommend

Yeah its fantastic. No hangs, no problems, at least so far. I’d say its worth the investment!

    Reddit▲ recommend

Bought it, no regret, really polyvalent and efficient enough for me!

    Reddit▲ recommend

I just got this trimmer as well, love it so far.

I still stand by my "excellent" rating.

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

    Redditⓘ good to know

There isnt much difference, they all are good quality afaik, dont know if the new ones are worse/better, but I personally got the newer 9575/49. I didnt need the extra three attachments the 80 variant offers.

    Redditⓘ good to know

Customisation and personal preference. That's the main reason the two are sold together, the trimmer and it's multi-combs offer 27 different length settings for when you want something other than a close shave.

    Redditⓘ good to know

I bought it from the store and received it just like you. The only difference is that the brown box was inside a bigger Phillips branded box

It's also the one showing up on their website now: https://www.costco.com/philips-norelco-multigroom---ultimate-precision-all-in-one-trimmer.product.4000236226.html. Current regular price is $10 higher than the model it replaces.

    Redditⓘ good to know

Yes, so confusing. If you go onto the Philips website and search for the multigroomers, then remove the in stock at Philips and sort by newest, that gives you all the info and at this time, shows the 9575/49 as the latest model for 2026

    Redditⓘ good to know

You could use soap, I think, although the head consists of small machine parts and I don’t know how effective that would be.

I just bought the MG9580 off amazon. It's $120. I think it's the most expensive, but this thing is built like a tank. I just got it and am going through it now. I haven't even used it yet and i would say it's worth the money. I say spend the extra $20.

    Redditⓘ good to know

I went with the Costco 9526 model knowing that it gives me 2 hours worth of battery which is still a lot for me but also best was the half price which I appreciate. I did ai search on difference and what I am getting to help me decide and additional i did comparisons.

    Redditⓘ good to know

I have it, I haven't used it on my chest but I assume it'd be a decent body trimmer.

    Redditⓘ good to know

I bought what I thought was this model but it says my model is an MG9525/40 with 24 attachments. Only weird thing is I can't actually find this model number anywhere. Messaged Philips and the rep couldn't even find it so they escalated my case. If anyone knows what's up if appreciate it

    Redditⓘ good to know

Don’t know why Philips has to have a 7000 series and 9000 series mg and face shaver. I have a 7000 series foil shaver and while researching the multigrooms which are currently on sale for early prime day my searches kept getting mixed up and I kept getting results for the foil shaver from google.

    Redditⓘ good to know

Looks like the 7000/5000/3000 models are about to be updated.

    Redditⓘ good to know

Great, will pick one up this week, they are on sale for $45

    Redditⓘ good to know

The cheaper one is the original “9000” model.
