Cuisinart PerfecTemp CPK-17

Based on 25 comments across 1 community
TL;DR
Most owners are happy with the Cuisinart PerfecTemp, praising its handy temperature presets, fast boil, and keep-warm feature, with many running it daily for years without issue. The recurring concern is longevity, as a notable minority report it failing after a year or two. A short cord and the plastic-and-stainless interior are smaller gripes worth knowing before you buy.

My cpk17 flickers off then back on every 5 or so seconds.

The problem started for me after not using it for three weeks while traveling. I bet that was just enough time for corrosion to build up since the house was more humid and it wasnt running.

This is the kettle I have

I managed to do all of the above but no luck, it still turns off prematurely at 150F 😞 must be a different issue

I've been using it for years and it is reliable!

It's a great kettle while it lasts. But it doesn't last. I read on reviews before buying it that it tends to fail after a year or two. I hoped I'd be lucky and get a good one, because my parter and I drink a lot of tea and don't like it too hot. But mine did exactly what the reviews said. Stopped working after about 12 months.

my first one I had for a decade and technically still works but the beeper died so I opted to replace it. Otherwise haven't had any issues with them

I recommend you get a variable temperature kettle for heating water, something like this

works great, have had mine for about a year and a half

I use it daily for a variety of teas, and the temp settings are amazing. So simple and quick, plus the keep warm function is nice when I know I'm drinking more than one cup

I've been using the Cuisinart for about a year now and it's been great. The different temperature settings are super handy for different types of tea. Haven't had any issues with it so far!

I use it every day, it cuts my boiling time in half (less if I aim exactly for the 1L mark for my tea pot) versus a stove kettle. The only thing I dislike about it is the short cord, which is easily resolved with an extension.

I have the Cuisinart and use it almost everyday, water gets up to temperature in 1-3 minutes, it's an awesome electric kettle. I haven't had any issues with it and there haven't been any problems with it changing the taste of the water.

It isn't glass which bugs me, but it has a concealed heating element, and a rather large opening for easy cleaning.

Before that I had the Cuisinart one, which is still going strong at my mother's house 5+ years after I bought it.

I've been using mine regularly (many times daily) for years with no signs of rust at all.

I own the Cuisinart and I have no complaints except it has a really short power cable.

I personally prefer the Cusinart more due to the boil dry protection.
