DualSense Wireless Controller

Based on 41 comments across 1 community
TL;DR
Owners love the DualSense for its comfortable feel, premium build, and immersive haptics and adaptive triggers, and many use the same controller for years without trouble. The catch is stick drift, by far the most common complaint, with a number of owners hit within months and buying replacements. Add in middling battery life and occasional feature inconsistency, and opinions land genuinely split.

46% of 41 verified owners recommend the DualSense Wireless Controller.

It has notoriously awful battery life; I get about 6-8 hours at best before the low battery warning pops up.

I prefer the Sony controllers and just got a DualSense for PC gaming. It's nice and easy to use wired or with Bluetooth.

That changed with the DualSense, which to me is just as comfortable as the Xbox Series controller.

If I leave a Dualsense on and just sitting there it'll get about 6-7 hours if battery life,

I actually don't like the dualsense enough to stay using Sony controllers so I picked up an Xbox series x controller and a wireless adapter and I'm never looking back.

DualSense a little less than the other 2 because of the battery life though

I also modded the gamepad (and added 4 back buttons via a mod from Amazon) with a bigger battery from Amazon cause out of the box battery life wasn't to my liking at all.

I've been using the same controller since PS5 launch and it still works perfectly.

Haptic Feedback and Controller Speaker Audio require a wired connection, and even Adaptive Triggers are inconsistent on a game by game basis

I've been surprised at how important good haptic feedback has become for me

I literally had days where I emptied my Dualsense in one gaming session.

Everything about it is nicer than the newest Xbox controller except that.

Yeah its amazing controller.

Dualsenses are mega expensive and they start drifting after a month. I don't even want to mention haptic feedback and other cool features that magically stop working with third party games, and even first party games.

I've had PlayStation's of all gens and never had issues with drift

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Both of my controllers broke within a year of purchase. First had stick drift, second a broken trigger.

I liked having the touchpad as a button pad for various functions

The ps5 controller is the most comfortable controller I have used however the stick drift is terrible.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I can't play long, frequent sessions on my PS5 Pro, due to the uncomfortable controller.

Reddit▲ recommend

it's a great controller and doesn't need to be used for PS games

i like only this layout and i like their controller quality

god awful stick drift issues that have plagued multiple generations of controllers

Their stick drift is the worst. I will never buy another dualsense.
