Boss GT-1

Scored on 182 verified owner verdicts, from 373 comments read across 8 communities
TL;DR
Most owners of the Boss GT-1 are enthusiastic, praising its tone quality, portability, and value, with many still gigging and recording with the unit years after buying it — several even say it holds up against pricier modelers like the Helix. It's frequently called a steal for the price, especially used, and owners love how easily it fits in a gig bag for travel and practice. A meaningful minority push back hard, though, describing the tone as harsh, lifeless, or unnatural, particularly through headphones or compared to real amps and analog pedals. A smaller group also struggles with the menu system, reporting a real learning curve to get satisfying, well-matched tones out of the patches.

69% of 182 verified owners recommend the Boss GT-1, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Got the unit today and already a big disappointment.

it sounds great but the ergonomics are terrible.

Mine is not saving

I have discovered that it could be a great purchase. HOWEVER, the manual and the Boss produced manual and tutorials are seriously lacking and not very user friendly.

it still amazes me as to how good it sounds (and how simple it is to operate.)

I almost threw this thing at the wall, to be honest, and found your videos to be its savior

It has decent blues-tones but the distortions were a bit lackluster. Overall it's a good unit.

Pitchshiter sounds awfull, can you change that?

YouTube▲ recommend

You can do a lot with this unit, especially considering the price. I tried a friend's Helix, and I actually preferred the effects in the GT-1.

this is a great pedal but you NEED TO set it up properly and tweak it for it to sound good!
