TL;DR
Owners talk about the Baklash like a knife they keep coming back to, several have bought two or three over the years and call it their favorite Civivi or even their favorite knife period. The appeal centers on a thin, slicey blade grind paired with smooth, snappy action and a finger choil that earns its keep, wrapped in fit and finish people expect to pay much more for. Price comes up constantly, with owners naming $22 to $40 tags as a steal and calling it one of the best budget blades around. A few isolated notes mention a snapped and reground tip after hard use, or a rival's thicker blade holding up better to abuse, but those comments are scattered rather than a shared complaint.

78% of 27 verified owners recommend the Civivi Baklash, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Who it's for
A great fit if
  • EDC users who want a thin, slicey blade for everyday cutting tasks
  • Budget-conscious buyers wanting Civivi fit and finish under $40
  • Collectors who like swapping scale materials like G10, Micarta, and brass
  • Anyone who wants a smooth flipper action with a real, usable finger choil
Look elsewhere if
  • Buyers wanting a hard-use blade, since the thin grind gives a weaker tip than tougher alternatives
  • Anyone sensitive to weight, since some owners find it heavier than expected for its size
  • Steel snobs, since 9Cr18MoV lags premium options other Civivi models offer

I just bought a second Baklash. I’ve been using my current one for three years now, have snapped and reground the tip multiple times. My favourite knife of all time

There are cheaper options that are equally well made now, but it'll still do whatever you need it to do. Typical Civivi good action and good fit and finish.

The baklash is a better slicer, but I think the praxis would hold up to a little more abuse and certainly has a stronger tip

I got that knife in a couple different G10 color options for my sons and I was really impressed with it.

predictably very heavy and the action is fine but kind of dead - not very satisfying somehow

It's a banger. Great action, fit, and finish that Civivi flippers are known for at this price point.

Baklash is super slicey, and good ergonomics. Blade grind keeps it thin, but strong. Good choice!

There's an even more expensive version with brass scales, and 154CM or a Damascus version. I chose the Brass version myself.

The picture doesn’t look like it, but I actually got the beige/gray color. I got this one from BladeHQ...been liking the little personal touches they give to the orders. This post actually shows the color better... https://reddit.com/r/knifeclub/comments/9e5li4/nkd_civivi_baklashbudget_offshoot_of_we_knives/
