In owners' own words

Lack of third-party lens support is an instant dealbreaker for me.

since the dynamic range in the R6 ii is artificially limited, the R7 can have exactly the same dynamic range, while costing $1,000 less
@sunflowerdeath on YouTube
Its interesting to see that dynamic range of fuhi xH2 in non oversampled 4k is still better then the one in Canon R6 mark 2.
@indago1 on YouTube
The extra 4MP aren't worth losing image quality when I'm regularly shooting at 25k ISO.

this camera has one crippling feature: external monitors render the touchscreen useless
@fretandframefilms on YouTube
I have the R6. This is not worth upgrading for.

until I saw this review. Thanks for saving me from a mistake!

So why are we getting entry level features on such an expensive camera?
@jeffrey3205 on YouTube
the color science from R6 is not anymore the Canon warm lovely colors
@L.Lyubomirov on YouTube
i feel sorry for canon, they are right know out of competition in many ways, 2,500 for that??
@soymezus4637 on YouTube
It’s such a bummer that Canon didn’t put the R5 EVF in the R6ii
@robbowilliams on YouTube
Too expensive with different lens package.

Setup quirks & things to watch for

Not complaints — practical notes from owners that didn't affect the score.

The controls on the r5 Mark ii, are exceptionally similiar to the R6mark ii, Only real difference is the Mode select dial, Illumation button for LCD screen, LCD screen. Joystick "feels" a little different but they are placed the same. Generally speaking aside from the EVF size, I wouldn't notice the difference of controls when I am using the cameras.

I have an R6 and an R5.2. For wildlife I really think you want an R5.2 or R6.3 for three main reasons if you can afford it
lhxtx on Reddit
the best value is the R6 mk ii (especially second hand with all the people ditching them for an upgrade)
valdemarjoergensen on Reddit
Only thing from the 3 I would want on my 2 is the true preburst capture instead of the rawburst mode
autrey74 on Reddit
R6M2 have flooded the second hand market and they're too lucrative to pass on them
fX_in on Reddit
the electronic shutter has other limitations depending on your shooting use case
Dragon_Fyre99 on Reddit
The readout speed of the R5, R6 an R6II is about 14ms
grouchy_ham on Reddit
The R6ii body is larger, but better for large lenses
