Due to the steel's limitations, I wouldn't call a Wüsthof or Vic a first choice heavy duty blade. It's more appearance than reality.

The blade on the fibrox is good but I don't care for those mounded plastic handles, in particular I think the victorinox handles are especially uncomfortable

The OOTB sharpness of the 8" Victorinox Fibrox Pro is comparable to my hand-sharpened Sakai Kikumori nihonkou gyuto (after a couple weeks of light use) which also returns results around 100–130 BESS.
