In owners' own words

The Mini 4 Pro is just too close to the Mini 3 Pro as far as photo & video quality.

dji mini 4 pro. Loved the idea of a drone but everywhere I want to use it I cannot. I've actively used this for photography once in the Mojave desert where there were no restrictions. I also did have one paying gig doing architectural photography with the drone, so it's not a huge regret. But it mostly sits on my shelf unused.

The first day with my mini 4 pro I didnt realize that obstacle avoidance turned off with sport mode and flew my drone into a tree and it fell and was totaled.

Contacted their support and after checking the serial number they told me it was a firmware issue and that I need to send it back for a replacement and there was no other way around it.

I wrecked my Mini 4 Pro last week too. I guess object avoidance wasn't working and I accidentally lowered the drone right into a tree. Broke one of the arms.

Almost toasted my drone on the maiden flight. It was a bright green light (not strobe). I immediately zipped vertical to about 100 meters. But then the drone would not land, or descend.

I've been reading this on the DJI forums mostly on the Mini 4 Pro. To send back a brand new and unused drone is worrying. Why is this firmware bricking the drones?

Got my DJI mini 4 pro combo pack yesterday and I can't get pass activating the controller. Keeps saying. "Activation failed. Check and try again Activation failed. Error code: Server error (-2).

o meu é um Mini 4 pro, , assim que comprei, ativei a bateria normalmente que veio com o drone, mas apos a primeira atualização de firmware, a mesma já nao funcionava mais

Mini pro 4 is very expensive with all the gear you need, plus it can't handle crashes like the HoverAir can. Your $2K DJI will lose its propellers and damage the gimbal after a 30mph crash into a tree.

To swap between the Neo and the 4 you need to update the controller firmware every time. Not kidding. Ended up crazy frustrated with DJI support over this as it makes no sense

Several days later a brand new fresh out of the box and charged dji mini 4 pro we bought to replace the now broken mini 3 pro and the same thing happened from a much greater distance.

Setup quirks & things to watch for

Not complaints — practical notes from owners that didn't affect the score.

I am not getting the best results yet with Mini 4 Pro IMOO and my other drone a Dji Mini 2 SE has some different camera where the AI seems to do a better job when using the auto mode settings

I really like the look of it, and have wondered why DJI doesn't make the Mini 4 pro a color that's more visable other than grey, as it's easy to loose in the clouds.

I love in St. Louis MO, we have the arch here. It's considered a national park, I can't fly my Mini 4 pro, mini 3 pro into that airspace, the drone gives me a warning then if I persist, it just stops.

Obstacle avoidance works very well except small leafless branches in the winter which there is lots of videos of the Mini 4 pro going down by a tiny stick.

I crashed my drone into the side of my house after one week of owning it. I walked into to Best Buy and 5 minutes later walked out with a brand new drone.

Bought a mini 4 pro and regardless of how much attention I paid while flying, still made a small mistake and got the drone wet for 20-30 seconds. It was 360 eur to repair (basically a new replacement) so yeah, it's worth it.

I have a dji mini 4 pro. But i hope they make a mini 5 pro with 1 inch sensor, and better obstical avoidence like the air 3 or air 3s.
Prizeless_N1 on Reddit
it was because my obstacle sensors were off for some reason on my new mini 4 pro (I let my little brother fly it for a few minutes and I guess he did something l) and I hit a tree.
