DJI Mini 4 Pro

Scored on 268 verified owner verdicts, from 3,394 comments read across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners rave about the camera and image quality, the wind resistance for such a small drone, and how beginner-friendly it is to fly. The recurring gripes are that the obstacle avoidance can't always be trusted and has led to close calls or crashes, the arms and body feel like thin, breakable plastic, and a few people see soft edges or washed-out photos.

71% of 268 verified owners recommend the DJI Mini 4 Pro, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Couldn't be happier with it

The first day with my mini 4 pro I didnt realize that obstacle avoidance turned off with sport mode and flew my drone into a tree and it fell and was totaled.

Only issue I've had when it's windy is landing on my landing pad. Otherwise it's been fine if I just want to land anywhere. DJI Mini 4 Pro

The vision based system only works well in good lighting conditions and for large obstacles.

If I had to pick one RC vehicle from my arsenal and throw the rest away I’d keep the mini 4 pro!

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

The Mini 4 Pro is just too close to the Mini 3 Pro as far as photo & video quality.

dji mini 4 pro. Loved the idea of a drone but everywhere I want to use it I cannot. I've actively used this for photography once in the Mojave desert where there were no restrictions. I also did have one paying gig doing architectural photography with the drone, so it's not a huge regret. But it mostly sits on my shelf unused.

I just started last summer with drone flying so this is an easy one to learn on. I just wish the camera had a lens aperture capability and allow for longer exposures.

I couldn't be happier!

I’d agree on a lot but will also say the 2 flies the best

I use the 4 more than my other drones

Several days later a brand new fresh out of the box and charged dji mini 4 pro we bought to replace the now broken mini 3 pro and the same thing happened from a much greater distance.

A DJI Mini 4 Pro takes incredible pictures.

To swap between the Neo and the 4 you need to update the controller firmware every time. Not kidding. Ended up crazy frustrated with DJI support over this as it makes no sense

Reddit— neutral

the Mini 4 Pro is already super lightweight and flimsy

YouTube▲ recommend

flying in high wind is rarely an issue, so don't worry about it

Contacted their support and after checking the serial number they told me it was a firmware issue and that I need to send it back for a replacement and there was no other way around it.

I'm happy with the Mini 4 pro that it came with as part of the fly more combo but can't believe less than 4 hours of drone flight and controller usage, the RC2 controller crapped out.

I got a DJI mini 4 Pro that features advance tracking. For trails with deep vegetation like this one can get a little difficult to track you since it keep losing the subject, But it works.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Almost toasted my drone on the maiden flight. It was a bright green light (not strobe). I immediately zipped vertical to about 100 meters. But then the drone would not land, or descend.

Mini 4 pro is a great drone

Baterija mu dosta slabo traje i slabo mi hvata signal.

Reddit▲ recommend

The size and weight is a huge selling factor. Top notch specs, but more importantly to the casual user, the software to do amazing looking videos and photos.

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

it was because my obstacle sensors were off for some reason on my new mini 4 pro (I let my little brother fly it for a few minutes and I guess he did something l) and I hit a tree.

Redditⓘ good to know

I am not getting the best results yet with Mini 4 Pro IMOO and my other drone a Dji Mini 2 SE has some different camera where the AI seems to do a better job when using the auto mode settings

Redditⓘ good to know

I really like the look of it, and have wondered why DJI doesn't make the Mini 4 pro a color that's more visable other than grey, as it's easy to loose in the clouds.

Redditⓘ good to know

I love in St. Louis MO, we have the arch here. It's considered a national park, I can't fly my Mini 4 pro, mini 3 pro into that airspace, the drone gives me a warning then if I persist, it just stops.

Redditⓘ good to know

Obstacle avoidance works very well except small leafless branches in the winter which there is lots of videos of the Mini 4 pro going down by a tiny stick.

Redditⓘ good to know

I crashed my drone into the side of my house after one week of owning it. I walked into to Best Buy and 5 minutes later walked out with a brand new drone.

Redditⓘ good to know

Bought a mini 4 pro and regardless of how much attention I paid while flying, still made a small mistake and got the drone wet for 20-30 seconds. It was 360 eur to repair (basically a new replacement) so yeah, it's worth it.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have a dji mini 4 pro. But i hope they make a mini 5 pro with 1 inch sensor, and better obstical avoidence like the air 3 or air 3s.

Redditⓘ good to know

My experience is the same as others in this post. My phone would connect to the drone, but only blank thumbnails would show.

Redditⓘ good to know

DJI Mini 4 Pro is pretty hot on batteries, if you're doing multiple shoots per day it may be worth getting a spare battery.

Redditⓘ good to know

I just had one approach/fly by my drone twice, (DJI mini 4 pro) and it set off the proximity warning on the second pass

Redditⓘ good to know

I'd consider the mini 4 pro to be more of a "concession" or "compliance" drone, as well as a "back-up/secondary" drone.

Redditⓘ good to know

This is a commona issue with DJI mini 4 pro and they easily change the whole device. It's a firmware problem.

Redditⓘ good to know

When my mini 4 pro is wobbly I calibrate the imu, apparently it should be done after every firmware update

Redditⓘ good to know

I kind of don't want to buy a mini 4 pro at FULL PRICE after its been out for a year and a half now.

Redditⓘ good to know

I only wish I could figure out if any of the phone-based controllers work with the Mini 4 Pro

Redditⓘ good to know

Literally just got my hands on a DJI Mini 4 Pro and already starting to regret not waiting…

Redditⓘ good to know

The DJI Mini 4 Pro has no IP rating so it is neither waterproof nor dust proof.

Redditⓘ good to know

I was hoping to build waypoints on Dronelink or Litchi and transfer them over

Redditⓘ good to know

I have an X1 and a Mini 4 Pro and use them both depending on the situation

Redditⓘ good to know

Same thing with my Mini 4 Pro. DJI addressed this issue with eco mode.

Redditⓘ good to know

My DJI mini 4 pro had a broken gimbal. Sent it in, and it was only 65.
