TL;DR

I just bought The Witcher omniubus, and it is basically unreadable on my Kobo Clara Colour. The font is far to small for comfortable reading. There is a zoom option, but that is not a good experience with eInk.

My kobo Clara couloirs battery does NOT go down when it is off

Thank you kobo for the ease of use for someone with thousands of ebooks already in a (non-amazon) library.

I just made one for the Kobo Clara Colour and this e-reader is slower than the older clara 2E even if the color version has a better CPU! (Kaleido 3 are more power hungry for sure...)

YouTube— neutral

It´s my first e-reader so i can´t notice what everybody say about the screen

YouTube▲ recommend

I have the same one and I’m so in love with it!! everyone hates the screen but for me I can read perfectly and the colour is huge for me

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

The Kobo Clara Colour screen seemed a little distorted, or the texture because of the color feature so I ended up exchanging for the Kobo Clara BW which is the best of both worlds, IMO.

its new to me and I've been enjoying the few pics so far. i would like something with better built quality in the future. Could definitely use some colour, seeing some really nice combos on this forum, happy with the functionality for now. It is a Kobo Clara Colour, it's an e-reader.

YouTube▲ recommend

Well, Kobo, it is! It has better library compatibility

I have the Kobo Clara Colour, which is more affordable & more portable, I mainly like to highlight in colour so it’s good for that, but no digital note taking ability.

I've been struggling with this and general lagging since I bought my Kobo Clara Colour and reading this gave me the strength I needed to go to the store and request a refund

YouTube▲ recommend

Zero complaints about the screen considering I'm mostly just reading text off epubs with it.

YouTube▲ recommend

This looks like a great alternative.

I called myself buying a Kobo Clara Colour when they were released and hated it. With myself, I notice the color on my Colorsoft being a bit more crisp compared to the kobo.

I think I prefer the paperwhite, the clarity is better and find the kobo screen a bit yellow (but need to fiddle with the settings to offset that).

For some reason, I can’t use send djazz in my kobo clara colour :( it always says file not found. But in my kobo libra 2, it works fine when I tried to send the same file…

YouTube▲ recommend

Encantado con la experiencia. Super ameno para largas sesiones de lectura y uso de una sola mano muy cómodo.

My Kobo Clara Colour has pretty homogenous lighting. I can see the light a bit more in the corners from certain angles occasionally, but generally, it’s good.

YouTube▲ recommend

I really only want color for annotations and highlighting. Its a dream for that.

Reddit— neutral

I don't notice any difference in sharpness between the two and my kobo is actually a bit faster than Kindle but not by much. But it does ghost quicker.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I have a Kobo Clara Colour (picked up on a good offer) and a PW… I always gravitate towards the PW. My wife now uses the Clara. It didn’t add much apart from a brief novelty of having colour cover art.

So I've just migrated from Kindle to Kobo Clara Colour. Is it me, or is the store a bit of a wasteland in comparison to Kindle?

YouTube▲ recommend

Pros for me less distractions, and i read faster.

I tried following that post when I got my Kobo Clara Colour and couldn’t get it to work. How are you connecting your library cards to your overdrive account?

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Mind you, this is for Kobo e-readers. Tablets use different screens and would still omit light even at the darkest setting. Mine is the Kobo Clara Colour.

Redditⓘ good to know

I tried using [Embed Comic Metadata](https://github.com/dickloraine/EmbedComicMetadata), and Kobo Clara Colour doesn't like the metadata so much.

Redditⓘ good to know

I bought my Kobo Clara Colour some time ago. When I had to choose, one of the main different was the texture of the case. Clara was like grany and Libra was smooth... But as a active user, I feel the Libra more likely to get oily. Other main reason, Clara is lighter and I have to commute to School everyday.

Leave any other font from the bookerly font family out. Some books have a problem on kobo with the bold italic. Plus not many books use it. It works great on my kobo Clara colour.

Redditⓘ good to know

Kobo Clara Colour doesn't support the pencil to start with. You can use your fingers to highlight things and you take notes by using the virtual keyboard (like on your phone).

I returned the faulty Clara immediately and got a new one in the Coolblue store. To be honest these kind of flaws are apparently quite common among e-readers.

Redditⓘ good to know

I use a Kobo Clara Colour and my set up is: **Font type:** I only use one font and it's a serif font called Iowan Old Street BT and I set the weight to max.

I have the Oasis 6”, kindle 6”, kobo Clara HD 6”, kobo Clara colour 6” and kindle Paperwhite 6.8”. Any of them are fine to take with me.

I'm struggling to make the full page fit into my screen. I've tried a few times, but haven't managed to make the full page fit correctly and, although readable, there are some words that get cropped, which is slightly annoying.

I bought mine at the mediamarkt, the Kobo Clara Colour. It had a dead pixel, so I returned it the next day for a new one. Very easy.

Redditⓘ good to know

I did all the steps here on a brand new Kobo Clara Colour (2024), but the screensaver wasn't showing my .png **until I added a couple .epub books.** So it looks like you need to have at least one book in your "My Books" for this to work.

when you set lightning near zero kobo clara colour is much more darker than libra 2 and it's the downside for me.

I have a Kobo Clara Colour and Kobo Klara 2E. They’re one-handable for me and I have pretty small hands.

Kindle keyboard (3?), and Kobo Clara Colour, USB cable from my Linux laptop or via my internal shared Calibre library with the web browser. Either way not difficult on either system. Strangely, the ancient Kindle has a better browser compatibility than the Kobo.

on my kobo clara colour and b751c it doesn't have this effect, that's what I don't understand...

Redditⓘ good to know

Kobo bw and kobo Clara colour are the smallest size of the kobos, both valid and work fine.

Kaleido is darker if you don't turn the light on and the contrasts are less sharp but it has colors, they have the same PPI in black and white but for colored images Kaleido does use half of the PPI. They both are perfectly readable tho, I find the Kaleido is better on MY eyes but many ppl feel the opposite so it's subjective.

I have this on my Kobo Clara Colour. I have a line at the bottom that progresses as you get further in the book. And in the settings (settings > reading settings) you can also set the footer to show: pages left in the book, % of book read, time left in book, or nothing. And you can set the header to: pages left in chapter, % of chapter read, time remainin
