Boss RC-1 Loop Station

“Last. If you want to record clean you can still do that with the RC-1 at the end of your chain. If you don't put it last you can't loop any effects that come after it in your chain.”

“That's the wrong switch, you need one designed for Boss pedals, because they use "normally closed" switches ("normally open" is standard for most pedals, including the Ampero)”

“Yes, by default unless you hold the pedal down to erase it, the last recorded loop will still be there. There are instructions to change modes and to reset the pedal to default behaviour in the manual.”

“I've had several loopers (including the Trio, RC1, RC20XL and now RC5) and never really paid much attention to sound quality. It's a practice tool for me.”

“What does a long press do, while the loop is still playing ? Can you measure the long press activation duration ? Might that help to time the clearing ?”

“I like to use the rc1 to record the rhythm of a song so when the guitar solo comes up I can turn on the rhythm loop while I play the solo”

“It’s not going to improve anything unless you have a click track running that the drummer plays along to - that’s what quantization means; it “snaps” to something and that something is a metronome / click track / midi clock.”

“American Loopers sells a great two button switch for this that gives you dedicated single press stop and undo buttons. Well worth it.”

“double tap is pause. (which saves the loop if powered down) Double tap and holding it pressed down is clear memory.”

“When you are gonna stop the loop, if you know you'll want to get rid of it, justlong press the second tap of the normal double tap to stop. So I press, record, press, playback...... When I want to stop double tap. If I want to restart, tap, playback.....”

“Get an external pedal. I use the pedal that came with my Behringer amp. Also, there are two modes that it uses and they are switchable by powering up the unit while holding the button. The second way, not the factory preset, with a pedal solves all of these issues”
