In owners' own words

I had the Osprey Atmos AG 65 backpack, Naturehike Cloud Up 2 tent and an REI sleeping bag - all of which were really heavy. I have since started to buy much lighter gear.

I currently own an Osprey Atmos 65 AG and it has a full-back mesh suspension and I have never sweat more in a backpack than that one (ironically) so it never gets used
Hippopotalope on Reddit
The Osprey’s suspension system also squeaks, unfortunately when carrying heavier loads like 35-40 lbs

I have the Osprey Atmos and regret it

I had the hip belt literally adjusted and tightened to be as small as possible and it was still too big. Now I use a pack with no hip belt.

I had an Atmos AG 65. Total crap, squeaked on every step. Search squeaking Osprey backpack and you get the idea.

Osprey ATMOS AG 65 (comfortable but squeaks hopelessly with weight >=30 lbs despite all efforts to remedy)
SSinSD on Reddit
I tried out the bag in store and they dig into my hips a bit
@creglia on YouTube
The atmos gave me lots of chafing around the hips and was very uncomforable for looking around, partially because of the higher built of the pack (ris
DrEazer3 on Reddit
Osprey packs you mentioned are way overkill - you can likely find a more comfortable and lighter full frame pack
JuxMaster on Reddit
The atmos is well built pack but it’s bulky and was just overkill if you’re in the “lightweight” category.
sonnynate on Reddit
Finally I had to sell it because of the noises its structure makes. It is unbearable to walk with squeaks.

that pack was heavier and had more volume than I needed - it allowed me to carry far more weight than I should have. But, it was extremely comfortable

I've recently bought the Osprey Atmos AG 65 (L). I'm fairly new to hiking and plan to hopefully hike the PCT next year or the following dependent on corona (I'm from the UK) I'm starting to realise this pack is far to heavy for such a trip.. Am I right in thinking this?

Osprey Atmos AG 65 liter is barely large enough, for me.
MMessinger on Reddit
I started out with an Osprey Atmos AG 65. It has many different pockets and zippers and storage options however I discovered after only using it twice that I hated how it forced me to organize my gear.
GelflingInDisguise on Reddit
I’ve tried the Deuter act lite 65, Osprey atmos Ag 65, and the Gregory baltoro 65. I’m sure they’re great for hiking but they’re way too big
JZcgQR2N on Reddit
I have my first real rucksack, an Osprey Atmos AG 65, for when I want to take more of a bushcrafty approach or when the weather goes cold.
