the Vornado EVDC300 is excellent for 3x3 and smaller

What's good about this Vornado is that the jugs are one piece that use gravity or something to control the flow . . . no caps that can leak or malfunction. The con is that it doesn't shut off if it's out of water

when you compare the 6000s to a Vornado, which is cheap junk, there is no comparison

Evap40 is a good unit but pretty sure Levoit 6000S is higher output

I can recommend the Vornado EVDC300. I’ve had it for years at this point.

I can vouch for the EVDC300. Nice features, big tank, reasonable price.

I use this Ina 3x3 and it has no mist keeps my humidity on point

Vornado evap40. Super basic design but very effective. Easy to clean and safe to use with good tap water.

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

The humidistat only goes to 60% but has a “continuous operation” mode that can get beyond that in combo with a higher RH trigger in your exhaust.

I hope this is true! I'm about to switch to tap water for my vornado EVDC300 after using ZeroWater filtered water for a couple years (it's getting too annoying to filter the water and replace it).

My old honeywell cool mist, which isnt a whole house unit to begin with, had trouble getting past 15% on very cold days in my living room (but worked great when i used it in a room).

This is an evaporative humidifier. I did a ton of research and landed on the evaporative humidifier, and everybody was so keen on Vornado. But this is a bit ridiculous imo.

Depends on your water hardness. Check it every few days to get an idea and dump out the water and sanitize it when you do

Is there any general rule of thumb timeframe when the evaporative ones should be cleaned?

Which vornado model do u use? Don't both the models in the post use wicks?

I deleted my comment. I did research Vornado but apparently not enough.
