In owners' own words

Bottom line: I owned two different Truthear Models, for a total of four days of real usage. And because of the design, I have zero functional pairs of Truthear models to show for it.

That's underwhelming considering the hype.

I hate the screw. Why are more people not talking about the screw.

Truthear Hexa. BOOOORING. Love how subjective all this is but to my ears it was so dull.
Daysleepers on Reddit
To Neutral, very meh.

Truthear hexa, it's just too congested, spiky treble and depthless separation
PLY_j1e on Reddit
Truthear hexa.  Looks cheap, feels cheap,  sounds cheap.

Just returned mine. Absolute no mid bass. No bass at all really.

Compared directly with my TRN V90s, the trns won... and they're cheaper
@jorisbonson386 on YouTube
They sounded lifeless and cold to my ears.

Truthear Hexa- I understand why people like them, but everything about them is boring, even the look.

I don't recommend truthear hexa. From personal experience it's too cold and clear for me. I personally like more warm and more bass like the truthear zero reds.

Setup quirks & things to watch for

Not complaints — practical notes from owners that didn't affect the score.

I’ve only listened to them a little bit so far, but don’t think they’re going to be a favorite for me unless I really change my thinking after listening to them more.

With the Hexa I use the 10 ohm resistor sold with the Crinnacle Red. I don't measure it, but it just seems to flesh out the bottom octave.

I have the Hexa and I’m debating whether the upgrade to Pilgrims will be worth the money.
GrouchyMud3548 on Reddit
And yes, Hexa is less bulky. Hexa has a flat outer face and rounded off corners in the ear facing side
IAtaman on Audio Science Review
You can use an impedance adapter for a little bass boost. Does a lot of good things for the Hexa imo.
Pschulniknof on Reddit
Hexas just have relatively quiet bass which may or may not be preferable for certain genres.
failedluddite on Reddit
The planar and PZT are different driver types from the BA used in Hexa for the highs, so their sound profile differs by a lot

I just got mine too, coming from Moondrop Arias that had the dreaded moisture issues. They're taking me some getting used to as well, so I dialed in a bass shelf on the EQ
