Casper Original Foam Mattress

TL;DR
Owners are fairly split on the Casper Original: most who kept it praise its supportive, comfortable feel, with several saying it eased back pain and made for genuinely restful sleep. But a meaningful minority found it too firm, especially side sleepers, reporting hip or shoulder pain that pushed some to add a soft topper or return the mattress. A few other owners flagged isolated issues like excessive bounce, heavy weight, or sleeping hot, though these weren't common enough to call trends. Overall it reads as a solid but firm-leaning memory foam bed that suits back and stomach sleepers better than side sleepers.

6% of 17 verified owners recommend the Casper Original Foam Mattress, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Who it's for
A great fit if
  • Back sleepers wanting supportive memory foam with a firm-but-forgiving balance
  • Sleepers who prefer classic sink-in memory foam over a latex feel
  • Those upgrading from an unsupportive mattress and needing more back support
  • Buyers wanting a plush, high-end-hotel-style firmness rather than ultra-soft
Look elsewhere if
  • Lighter or petite sleepers who find the firmness too much without a topper
  • Side sleepers prone to hip or shoulder pressure pain
  • Hot sleepers, since several owners report it sleeps warm

7 years into a Casper original and don’t have any regrets.

vacuuming and washing and lint rolling everything solved the problem before it got out of control.

The all-foam mattresses are just not for us: super hot and super firm, and we were already starting to feel our body impressions form permanently.

Fiberglass is now poking out of the sides of the cover and there are shards all around my bed frame and nightstands.

I did buy Casper Original, there was another comment here which pointed me to a video of mattress teardown, I didn't see any loose fiberglass in that video. one of the store also opened the outer cover to show what's inside

Redditⓘ good to know

Thanks for your input. Mine was a queen size on a queen size bed frame, didn't have any issues with length or fit.

I think the memory foam one would be good for you as it is very soft on top but feels very supportive underneath. I don't feel stuck or sink in too much but just enough. It definitely feels softer than a tempurpedic. I tried those and the foam is too firm for me.
