The problem? Something is terribly wrong with the movement. I put it on my timegrapher as soon as I got it and the reading was a trainwreck. Unfortunately this is going to have to go back.

I thought the 38mm was a bit small as well. I purchased the dark green dial version and immediately put a green nato strap on it. This made it look bigger

I wear my khaki dailed mechanical to some extent as a contrast to the larger watches in my collection It doesn't look out of place in contrast and doesn't look that small

Sadly, I must report my pvd khaki died...it was babied and never left the house...after 10 months, one day I heard a "pop" while winding (did not overwind it).

Yes, it's correct that the accuracy + / - 2 seconds/day, and I also noticed that it has long power reserve (which I found is really good!).

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

It is manual wind with an 80-hour power reserve, and I really like that aspect of the watch. And while I usually prefer slightly larger watches the size is just right.

I bought a used Khaki Field Mechanical 38, kind of the most basic black dial version they have. I didn't like it, and found it pretty boring.

WatchUSeek— neutral

Swimming, harvesting wood, moving pallets 12 hours a day in a warehouse, subzero weather, my watch didn't care.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Great watch! I love mine. I own the black dial version. I am not exaggerating when I say it runs better than watches I have owned costing twenty times as much.

WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

Long lugs for the case size (I believe 47mm). I can’t wear mine on a two-piece strap because it leaves an obnoxious air gap.

WatchUSeek— neutral

It is a really cool watch though I may pick up another one in the future when it’s more readily available

I agree with all of your sentiments. I've had a lot of Hamiltons over the years and this has to be one of my favorites. I love the domed sapphire, overall size, blasted case, manual wind, and drilled lugs.

WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

I had one but resold it because of the very long lugs. It wasn't comfortable on the wrist (I got an 8"/20cm wrist).

WatchUSeek— neutral

It's better than some other Hamiltons i've had but not as strong as a tipical Seiko diver either.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I too own this watch albeit the green version and I love it, not just because of its value/brand history etc but just how comfortable it is to wear.

WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

the movement can be overwound and break. Only handwind movement I ever broke. And I've broken it twice

WatchUSeek— neutral

I agree about the lume, my Khaki field doesn't last very long either.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

It's a great watch, keeps time better than its more pricey Elabor counterparts. And looks great with any canvas/nato/zulu strap to boot

I'm fairly certain this issue with the Hamilton H50 failure is due to a change of quality of parts.

WatchUSeek— neutral

But this is probably the best pure field watch out there.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Perfect size for my 7” wrist (phone camera makes it look like there’s lug overhang but there’s really not); I love how thin it is too.

WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

Well made, excellent QC, overpriced at MSRP, ZERO AR coating and crappy lume.

WatchUSeek— neutral

Except the part about 5 seconds a day. I'm at 14

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Overall it has become my most worn watch of my little collection, on an Erika’s original strap. I enjoy the historical vibes, the excellent timekeeping, winding it up and it doesn’t look terrible with a few dings and scratches.

WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

Tried on a 38mm in an AD and found it too small

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

If you like the Hamilton , get the Hamilton . Anything else is going to be not quite right if you have that image in your mind.

I have one with H-50 movement and love it!!! It's one of my favorites. I monitored accuracy for 30 days and it runs -2.2 spd.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I have a 7.75" wrist and I have no trouble wearing 38mm watches, including the field mech which I've owned for a few years now.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

This Khaki Field Mechanical has become one of my favorite watches. Value-wise, it is some of my best-spent money.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I have one as well. Very nice, good accuracy and build quality for the price, as usual from Hamilton .

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I have this one with the H-50 movement and I absolutely love it. Runs great and keeps excellent time.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I have the Khaki mechanical (green dial) and it fits me well, but i have about a 6 1/2, 6 3/4" wrist.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

The reasons I switched were the ETA movement, sapphire crystal and manual wind appealed more to me.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

The dial is dead easy to read even when i'm hiking and i don't have to put my specs on to read it.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

It has been extremely accurate and reliable, requiring only a new mainspring 3 years ago.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I love the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. It's the perfect size for my 6.75" wrist.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

The watch is incredibly legible. You'd have a hard time trying to NOT read the time.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I also have one with a white dial and it's one hella watch for its price point.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I love mine and have often considered getting a white dial variant as well.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Overall, the watch was incredible and I did not regret my purchase at all.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

great watch, I have the green version from 2015, looks great on a NATO

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I’ve been wearing my new khaki mechanical daily and I love it.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

After a few weeks of daily hand-winding it has been just fine.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Congrats on an excellent watch and great review. I love mine.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I had this exact same watch a few years ago and loved it!

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I've been wearing mine non stop since I got it as well.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

I bought a KFM and it is one of my most worn pieces.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

The perfect field watch? It is a yes from me!

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

My choice was the white dial, no regrets.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

Lugs were fine on my 6.75ish wrist.

WatchUSeek▲ recommend

It's a great watch, loving mine.
