Worst part of this watch is the 50m WR...

I also owned two Hamilton khaki field mechanicals (bronze and standard), and I just don’t get it. I never reached for them.

It’s an awesome watch and good looking.

    Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical- loved the feeling of the manual wind but the 50m water resistance was impractical for the activities I’d like to do while wearing a field watch. It also felt very small on my 7.5” wrist.

Love the watch - disappointed in the plastic-feeling strap. Solved that by getting a nice canvas khaki-green NATO. Perfect.

I got this watch about a year ago and I must say I’ve never wore or loved a watch so much. I don’t go anywhere without it

Aquele relógio militar e gosto bastante por ser pequeno e estilo prático.

    YouTube▲ recommend

It's the greatest and best watch I've ever owned. The strap however could be better.

    WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

The problem? Something is terribly wrong with the movement. I put it on my timegrapher as soon as I got it and the reading was a trainwreck. Unfortunately this is going to have to go back.

Sadly, I must report my pvd khaki died...it was babied and never left the house...after 10 months, one day I heard a "pop" while winding (did not overwind it).

I just bought one about a week ago. Love it. At first I thought it would be too small at 38 mm, but you’re correct... it actually does wear closer to 40mm because of those long lugs.

I have a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical, and it's sometimes difficult to use it with any outfit because of the busy dial.

Absolutely nothing about this watch is amazing (least of all the water resistance) except its ability to be the watch that spends most of its time on your wrist and not in your roll. It’s not my most prized watch but certainly the best loved

I have one and love it. I got a whole strap wardrobe. It looks good on leather (black or tan) NATO and single-pass fabric (I love BluShark) and rubber. I also got the Field Mechanical Expedition. Since they're both 20mm straps, you can pass straps back and forth. Nice build quality, good timekeeping.

    YouTube▼ don’t recommend

the Hamilton Khaki has odd looking digits. I know it's presumably historically accurate, but to me, compared to the Bulova Hack, that rounded font on the Khaki looks weirdly like Comic Sans or something.

    YouTube▲ recommend

I'm wearing mine right now, I love wearing it, especially with the strap it comes on!

    Reddit— neutral

The Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical would've been a near perfect everyday watch, if the lug length was just a bit shorter. As it is now, using a two-piece strap on it creates large gaps between the straps and the case, and it just looks so ugly.

    WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

I've had the date version and found the pushed off 15 next to the date to be a poor design choice. I've had the no-date version in all black and found the dial too cramped from the thick font and markers.

    YouTube▲ recommend

I can't believe how much enjoyment I still get from wearing it. Something about the absolutely casual, yet rugged simplicity really speaks to me. I am so glad I bought it. It's a great daily driver especially if you don't wear a suit and tie everyday.

    YouTube— neutral

At 7:30 you suggest that the strap feels “premium”. I would say “serviceable”, at best.

    WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

I bought a used Khaki Field Mechanical 38, kind of the most basic black dial version they have. I didn't like it, and found it pretty boring.

im glad I didnt get the H50 movement! The older 2801-2 looks better

    WatchUSeek▼ don’t recommend

The date version was my first mechanical watch. I learned that I liked mechanical watch, that 38mm was too small for a daily, that I liked thin watches and hated date windows. I gave it to my 12yo grandson for his first watch.

I love this watch so much history

    Redditⓘ good to know

Not too small at all. Also it's a Hamilton so you always have to watch out for their disproportionately long lugs.

    WatchUSeekⓘ good to know

I tried a whole host of conventional 20mm straps on it including rubber, sailcloth, and varying thicknesses of leather in many finishes and nothing looked right to me. The good news is this watch looks fantastic on NATO straps of nearly any color.

    Redditⓘ good to know

Perfect size and I think the white is better in that watch, makes the dial look less busy.
