So cool: without plastic elements in a coffee machine. Bad for cancer, good for you!

Worst part is probably the ceramic v60. Plastic has better heat retention, or so I’ve heard.

that much V60 is not ideal as it is to be cold very quickly.

it should make good coffee with that perfect temp water

The plastic V60 breaks after a year or two.

Coffee expert James Hoffmann says the Hario V60 in plastic is fine and even preferable because it won't break as easily as a ceramic or glass holder.

The Goldilocks option, it works perfectly well for single servings, as well as parties of up to four .

Redditⓘ good to know

I have a Hario v60 size 02. I've made coffee with this only about 30-40 times. I've had less than ideal results.

Home-Baristaⓘ good to know

The number 02 can definitely accomadate more ground coffee than 25-30 grams, and the beauty of the V60 is that you have full control over the brew time with both grind size and pour speed.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have a V60 02 and with 30g of fresh coffee (even after a 45 second bloom) the brewer seems to fill up with swollen coffee. For me, this has made following the Scott Rao method difficult for more than ~25g.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have the 02 and it was very difficult to get a good cup when I was trying to brew using 15g or less of coffee, and that was resolved by getting an 01.

Home-Baristaⓘ good to know

I noticed 01 brews tend to be a little cleaner, while 02 seems to be a bit more consistent as drawdown is a bit slower.

Redditⓘ good to know

the 02 a minimum of 300 ml and a max of maybe 500, I usually brew 200 on my 01 (2 minutes) and 400 on my 02 (3 minutes)

Redditⓘ good to know

I have standard edition plastic and ceramic V60s and do not see any noticeable difference in draw down times.

Redditⓘ good to know

I used to do 20g + 320 ml on my 02 and never found it to taste right, even when I carried the grind size.

Redditⓘ good to know

I do 48g of fresh coffee in a 02 without a problem.
