TL;DR
Owners see the DCK240C2 as a great-value starter kit with long-lasting batteries that holds up for years, though its older brushed motors and a chuck that can loosen leave some wishing they'd bought a brushless set.

65% of 17 verified owners recommend the DeWalt DCK240C2, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

I am shocked DeWalt is still selling this old VERY OLD drill & impact driver combo.

They still work fine but the biggest issue is the chuck. After some time drilling or driving screws, the chuck will loosen and the driver bit (or worse, drill bit), will drop to the floor.

This two pc combo is definitely a good buy !

Great kit at a great price. PIus, I purchased this kit several years ago for $200 and it's still going strong.

this thing looks like you can't even go through wood! It started to go into the wood and then it started to struggle.

For the money I paid, this kit was a very good helper. The drill's front part is called the chuck. It can get loose by itself.

We used the dewalt DCK240C2. Felt this was not strong enough!

It’s a good entry set for general household chores.

I still wouldn't buy it, though, I'd get the Metabo HPT kit, or spend more for a brushless combo kit from Dewalt or Milwaukee.

Unfortunately, they failed relatively quickly, but being so far away warranty service was not an option.

Best purchase I made. Batteries last well and don't need to drag extension cord around.

For $150 I would get the atomic set that is also Brushless from Home Depot. Not even close.

I had looked at these lower end versions for the video but geeze they're bad.

I have owned that kit for many years, it's still going strong after much homeowner\DIY work. Just finished 300' of fence last week.
