In owners' own words

I bought this lock and had nothing but problems. I tried for TWO full days to get Home Key to work with no success.

I’ve owned Yale Assure and its meh in my mind. The module feels like jamming smart tech into a dumb lock and the lock itself is responsive overall but not crisp. I’ve also had jamming and configuration issues after the lock was set.

I have the Yale Assure 2 and it drives me nuts that it reports the state wrong every so often.

I'm experiencing same issue with Yale Assure Lock 2 with ZWAVE but not as frequently. Super frustrating.

I had the same problem with my Yale Assure Lock 2 and removing the Wi-Fi module helped a lot. Seems like the constant connection just drains the batteries super fast

I have 2 Yale assure lock 2. They started off great but after 6 months I’m looking to switch due to consistent connection issues. It’s such a mess for me when they go down

My Yale Assure Lock 2 with fingerprint reader died after less than a year and it took so much back and forth with support to finally get them to agree to send me a new one.

Setup quirks & things to watch for

Not complaints — practical notes from owners that didn't affect the score.

BTW - my setup was a PITA as the Yale instructions are out-of-date. For instance - scanning the QR code for lock S/N failed during setup, but typing it in manually worked.

I had to factory reset the Yale Assure Lock 2 and restart my phone several times to get it to pair.

Set it up through the Yale Access app and works perfectly.

The initial setup was not smooth. I had to use an IOS device to initialize the setup and an Android device to complete a required update.

WiFi ones are a pain long term and Bluetooth needs a hub anyway. Z-Wave plus HA is just cleaner all around

I have the Assure 2 on both back doors (we have a rear garage) but the front door has a key lock.

it works. Essentially, they just haven’t gotten around to certifying the ZW3
