Vizio Elevate

Scored on 222 verified owner verdicts, from 1,107 comments read across 5 communities
TL;DR
Big, immersive Atmos sound and a strong subwoofer make this a movie-night favorite for the price, but HDMI handshake and CEC quirks plus audio sync and dropout issues frustrate many.

55% of 222 verified owners recommend the Vizio Elevate, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Sound amazing and that subwoofer is a beast

It looks cool and sounds okay but the upward firing speakers is kind of an gimmick

the problem of Vizio est is their POS quality control and customer service

The vizio elevate is a beast of a soundbar for the price I got it for $650 but the audio will lag a 3-10 seconds when pausing or starting content and this is paired with a PQX Vizio. Replaced it with a Samsung Q990b and problem solved.

I like vizio but my lord they need help when it comes to software.

i love how vizio organized the accessories in the box instead of just dumping them in willy nilly like most manufacturers

Ive been looking at this system, seems impresive,. Except for the cords on the rear speakers..

I LOVE the Vizio Elevate and can't recommend it enough.

It's annoying, but at least it's a fix.

But as soon as I heard you say no remote i decided not too.

The sound bar completely crapped the bed roughly 2 years later

Got this Saturday, this thing is GREAT. Recommend.

I’ve tried OG and New HomePods (2 separate stereo pairs of course) then compare to the Vizio elevate soundbar with subwoofer. The subwoofer adds the depth the HomePods are missing.

I was completely blown away at the sound quality.

I have the Vizio Elevate and it's a pretty good sound bar. However, Atmos & DTS-x don't really add much on it. It sounds like TrueHD or DTS-HD, which is fine. It gets the job done.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

It's unforgivable for a $1000 device to not have a decent app support.

I have a Vizio Elevate (the one that the soundbar rotates up for Dolby Atmos) and they’re finicky as hell but great if you don’t mind having issues every now and then

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

this was one of the most buggy sound bars we ever owned

holly crap it sounds amazing

The Elevate is WAY better. It's great for movies and gaming. Music is not it's best quality but it sounds so much more clear than my old system. It is an amazing sound bar.

Reddit— neutral

And I absolutely do enjoy it. However, I do have one issue that really bugs me, and that's when I start an app, play a game, or watch a movie. There's a three - to four second delay before the audio starts.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Elevate did not spark any more interest.

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

AVS Forumⓘ good to know

I’ve noticed that when I open the SmartCast app my Elevate will rarely connect on the first try. Closing and restarting the app seems to work most of the time and it connects on that 2nd try though.

Redditⓘ good to know

I had a first generation Vizio Elevate and realized that the room I needed to increase the loudness of surrounds and decrease thump of the subwoofer to get a balanced mix that was acceptable for content.

Redditⓘ good to know

it has stuttering from time to time particularly with the original firmware. The new firmware helps but still had issue whenever there is a special sound effect. After swapping the cable, it works well now.

Redditⓘ good to know

The app is just so much more convenient and easier to tune your speaker volumes. Which they do need some tuning

I've noticed this a few times as well. I unplugged the TV (Vizio OLED ) and Soundbar, waited a minute, plugged them back in and everything works correctly for about a week until I need to repeat the process again. Very weird and frustrating bug when it happens.

Redditⓘ good to know

The volume is pretty low for mine maybe I have it setup wrong
