Vizio Elevate

Based on 58 comments across 5 communities
TL;DR
Big, immersive Atmos sound and a strong subwoofer make this a movie-night favorite for the price, but HDMI handshake and CEC quirks plus audio sync and dropout issues frustrate many.

52% of 58 verified owners recommend the Vizio Elevate.

The vizio elevate is a beast of a soundbar for the price I got it for $650 but the audio will lag a 3-10 seconds when pausing or starting content and this is paired with a PQX Vizio. Replaced it with a Samsung Q990b and problem solved.

Sound amazing and that subwoofer is a beast

I’ve tried OG and New HomePods (2 separate stereo pairs of course) then compare to the Vizio elevate soundbar with subwoofer. The subwoofer adds the depth the HomePods are missing.

I have the Vizio Elevate and it's a pretty good sound bar. However, Atmos & DTS-x don't really add much on it. It sounds like TrueHD or DTS-HD, which is fine. It gets the job done.

its a nice bar....100% would recommend to anyone looking for a soundbar

after a two-year test run, I can confidently say that this particular Vizio sound bar is the biggest piece of shit I’ve ever seen in my life. The sound quality is amazing, but every other aspect of this thing is an absolute headache and nightmare.

I LOVE the Vizio Elevate and can't recommend it enough.

I have a Vizio Elevate (the one that the soundbar rotates up for Dolby Atmos) and they’re finicky as hell but great if you don’t mind having issues every now and then

I ended up returning the open box Vizio Elevate, it just would not play nice with CEC despite the TV also being Vizio. When things don't turn on reliably, everything else sort of takes a back seat.

My problem was definitely being caused by the Vizio Elevate. Once I switched to a receiver (Denon s760h) I never had this problem again..

And I absolutely do enjoy it. However, I do have one issue that really bugs me, and that's when I start an app, play a game, or watch a movie. There's a three - to four second delay before the audio starts.

The Elevate is WAY better. It's great for movies and gaming. Music is not it's best quality but it sounds so much more clear than my old system. It is an amazing sound bar.

I used to have the Vizio elevate and it was problematic with hdmi handshakes and atmos. The speakers would spin halfway up then back down. I now have a q990b and it’s leaps and bounds above the elevate with zero hdmi issues.

it sounds AMAZING

I’ve had the Vizio elevate and now the Q990b and the q990b outshines it in nearly all aspects with the one weakness (IMO) being that the front sound stage on the Elevate sounds, to my ears, far more “wider” than the q990b.

I can confidently say that the soundbar delivers fantastic sound quality.

I have the old version of the vizio elevate paired with my Sony x90L and it's a hit and miss sometimes. When I play movies or play my ps5 with Dolby atmos active, there is a 2-3 second delay with the sound. It's really annoying

I've have both a vizio elevate and q990c. Samsung is better at movies and higher-quality sources, vizio much better at everyday tv and lower end streaming . Voices on samsung sound hollow and mushy at lower volumes and when audio bit rates are low.

This replaced a top of the line Vizio Elevate P-Series sound bar setup and absolutely wipes the floor with it.

I own both the Samsung q990 b and Vizio elevate 5.1.4 soundbar among others. My thoughts are if you want wall shaking bass go with the Vizio. That being said if you want total immersion and the best atmos effects in a soundbar go with the Samsung q990b.The Samsungs bass IMO is subpar compared to the Vizio. It’s a toss up.

My personal recommendation from a 2 year owner of the Vizio Elevate

Confirmed waiting 40+ secs after turning on 42” LG C3 tv, enables e-arc to allow sound playback out of my Vizio elevate soundbar. However e-arc/CEC is still broken. Meaning when I turn my tv on, it doesn’t turn on my soundbar like how CEC is suppose to do.

Even though the sub is smaller on the elevate, I think it still kicks hard. I honestly have to turn the subwoofer and bass levels down to get some balance.
