The products owners can't agree on

A 4.2-star average can hide a real fight. We went through 95 popular products — each with 30+ first-hand owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube — to find the ones where owners split almost evenly between “buy it” and “don't.” The most divided: the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed, which 46% of 46 owners recommend and 50% tell people to skip.

Method
Divided Index= 2 × the smaller of (% who recommend, % who don't) — it hits 100 when a product's fans and detractors are the same size, and falls toward 0 when one camp wins or most owners are lukewarm. We included only active products with at least 30 first-hand owner verdicts and at least 30% in both camps. Owner verdicts are individually vetted comments with byte-exact quotes — full methodology. Why some products split the room

A divided score almost never means a product is defective. More often it means the product is specific — it does one thing well and asks the buyer to live with a real trade-off, so owners who wanted that thing love it and owners who wanted something else regret it. A running shoe tuned for a firm, fast ride splits the room by foot and gait; a coffee grinder that nails pour-over but not espresso splits it by what people brew.

That is exactly the buy where the star average is most useless and the actual owner split is most valuable. If a product is 50/50, the only question that matters is which half you're in— and that's answerable only by reading what the two camps actually say.
