I tried the Nimbus earlier this week and found them to be extremely soft at the metatarsal head

Reddit▲ recommend

Great so far and a huge cushion upgrade from my older winflos. Great upper. Overall great for long easy runs.

Reddit— neutral

Gel nimbus has extreme cushioning which makes them a little heavier I feel so I usually wear it for long slow paced runs only.

Reddit— neutral

Nimbus can work, but I found super blasts to be better past 10miles in terms of energy efficiency although with less cushion

Reddit▲ recommend

the second I step back into hokas or the nimbus my feet are fine again

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

the issue of the brand embossing on the sole of the 27 being too deep, causing noise

Reddit— neutral

I like the Nimbus 27 for walking, but it does seem they get too soft after many walks

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

after 2 miles of jogging, I have never experienced a hot spot that hurt so badly

Reddit▲ recommend

I've greatly enjoyed the 27 for general-purpose walking around

Reddit— neutral

GN-28 also felt a bit stiffer so can be more stable but nothing over the top.

Reddit▲ recommend

Nimbus worked much better for me than the dead feeling NB

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

It happened to me in much older asics nimbus models. Seems a common problem.

Reddit▲ recommend

Nimbus got me into running and done a lot of miles in it

Reddit— neutral

Loved the 26s, minus the hole in the left upper

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

The 27s are too bulky and the upper feels loose and not as premium

Reddit▲ recommend

The shoes are really awesome at below 10k at any price

Reddit— neutral

Otherwise, it's so comfy.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I got shin splints in ASICS but Brooks Ghost are the best for me!

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I swapped my nimbus for asics superblasts and will never go back

Reddit▲ recommend

nimbus 27 is damn good. feels like walking on cloud.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

genau an dem 27er und 26er habe ich rechts ein Loch am Zehnagel

Reddit▲ recommend

28 is better than 27 in midsole, rest it is same.

Reddit▲ recommend

Blast+ is easily one of the best foams out there

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Funny enough Asics and Hokas made my foot pain 1000x worse

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

A 4 shoe daily training rotation definitely will help prolong the durability of the rebel v5 and novablast 5. Just use the nimbus 28 for most of your activities outside running.

Redditⓘ good to know

Quiero ver algunas más fotos o vídeo de nimbus 28 y comparar sin probarla un defecto de las 27 que todas las suelas son blancas y talón para mí me gusta colores vivos y de un solo color

Redditⓘ good to know

Maybe it's only the pics, but it looks like the 28 has a narrower mid-foot. If that's the case, I'm not sure that I like that change at all. This is a nimbus, not a damn race shoe. We'll see.

Redditⓘ good to know

You’ve have a recovery shoe: Nimbus , two daily: Rebel and Novablast and a Tempo : Boston 13. You shouldn’t return any. You can rotate between all four of them and they will last a lot longer.

Redditⓘ good to know

hm.. I sometimes feel like hoka, brooks and asics have the same design teams haha. or their teams are sitting in the same building. that said, i like the looks of the 28. looks a bit less chunky.

Redditⓘ good to know

They look like NB 880 V15’s outsole, kind of.. https://preview.redd.it/h39uishjlbtf1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa44ff296b3f256447e50482d0130fc543bd1b1f

Redditⓘ good to know

The ASICS store guy told me roughly 700–800 km for my weight and possibly more depending on running style and surfaces. He also said the Nimbus is built for long-distance training, including marathon prep.

Redditⓘ good to know

Hi, first time commenter here:) What’s the usual line refresh timing for ASICS? Fall, winter? I’m looking forward to buying 27s, don’t won’t to risk with 28s with no reviews yet and possible downgrades/tweaks

Redditⓘ good to know

Though the nimbus is pretty sturdy, just check regardless. the toebox; if your feet feel comfortable and toes aren't getting bent out of shape lol the sole, cushioning etc. see if the fit feels comfortable & balanced 🤘

Redditⓘ good to know

How much taller do they want to make it I liked the nimbus when it was a boring firm shoe everyone complained about being the same each year

Redditⓘ good to know

I buy them on eBay, barely worn. They also still have new ones on there but price is the original price or more. Still better than 27/28…

Redditⓘ good to know

Still FF Blast+? I expected they would update it to Max but then again it might displace the GlideRide Max and as a tanky cruiser, the lively foam might be too much not to mention the durability concerns of the foam itself.

Redditⓘ good to know

Has the 28 been confirmed to have the hybrid grip? I heard that Asics is heading to all of their blast shoes having asicsgrip in 2026.

Redditⓘ good to know

Same line shoes have incremental differences which compound over 4-5 editions but are not that significant between consecutive ones.

Redditⓘ good to know

I put a lot of work into this post to help other people and a lot of research to find the right shoe not getting paid a dollar for this shit and I literally specifically said don’t listen to me or anybody else on a shoe recommendation.

Redditⓘ good to know

Except the megablast has full asicsgrip while the nimbus has hybrid asicsgrip, using the strictly inferior AHAR+ compound.

Redditⓘ good to know

They look like they have a rocker similar to the 25 (ie earlier), which I'm excited about. I've tried Brooks Glycerin Max and Nike Vomero Plus and the rockers come in too late for my footstrike on those two, as otherwise brilliant as they both are.

Redditⓘ good to know

I’ve got both and considering your qualms I’d recommend the Superblast 3, which for me is the best of those three worlds. Especially considering the marathon distance and pace. Novablasts are seriously slippy in the wet and the Nimbus provides a firmer ride.

Redditⓘ good to know

I doubt they would change it for their flagship lines but a lot of brands are changing models to 18 month updates vs 12 month. Less waste and higher margin since they don't have to put stuff on sale as often. I would expect the new Nimbus to be out in January.

Redditⓘ good to know

For what it’s worth, they look like the megablast outsole which have amazing grip.

Redditⓘ good to know

Yeah most of my customers prefer it as a walking or work shoe over a running shoe

Redditⓘ good to know

I have ordered the nimbus 27, will try them and then decide if I will keep them.

Redditⓘ good to know

I can see it from my phone too. Have you checked on your phone instead of Mac?

Redditⓘ good to know

following. Ive 7k budget and im thinking of going for the nimbus 27 aswell.
