eufy Security Video Doorbell E340

Based on 91 comments across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners praise the E340 for its dual cameras with a dedicated package view, solid video, and the freedom of local storage with no monthly fees, with many calling it a clear step up from Ring. The most common gripe is that it needs a separate chime or Homebase to ring indoors, and a handful of owners run into picture-quality or connection hiccups. For buyers who want package detection and no subscription, it's a strong, well-rounded pick.

My E340 Doorbell horrible and my S340 outdoor cam just junk when trying to speak to someone. They have no noise isolation when speaking and think that has a lot to do with it.

Replaced my Ring Pro doorbell with Eufy E340 doorbell wired in. Great doorbell, better than Ring in my opinion.

My doorbell is compatible with hb3, but for connection stability purposes don’t have it through my homebase and it exposes to HomeKit with the homebase 🤷🏻‍♂️. It does work though.

I purchased a Eufy E340 Video Doorbell because it claimed it could be hardwired, allowing for pre-roll recorded clips. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to achieve this yet.

I have an Eufy E340 which works well and seems really responsive. The dual camera is actually really useful.

If I had known this needed a Homebase and "Mini Chime" to be purchased as well, I would have saved my money.

This is just strange...so I've been back and forth with Eufy for over 3 weeks, and finally got them to send me a replacement (new) e340 video doorbell....once powered up, it worked just fine, as it should. I connected the new one as I did the old one, but the 4 second pre-record option was not there.

I just got E340 plus mini chime. Currently working on battery only it seems to be working well. I will need to tweak the view, but I think mains power will be required as the battery is down to 80% after just a few days.

Having just moved from rip off Ring to Eufy myself I’m very impressed. We have gone for the E340 and the video quality is miles better than Ring. Im not paying £50 a year out too and Rings customer service after my doorbell Ring doorbell died annoyed the hell out of me.

This has happened to me twice with two different eufy e340 dual video doorbells. The last one has actually a replacement for the same issue occurring with the original. I had the previous single video version which worked without issue. Seems like these are not fit for purpose and have a design fault.

My E340 doorbell works fine with it though guess I just got an expensive chime left now! lol

Eufy E340. Best video doorbell ever. Sold my Ring for the E340 and i'm in love.

I have the eufy E340 and the homebase 3 (installed approximately 6 months)other than a few teething problems (mainly me getting to know the app) I would thoroughly recommend eufy. The E340 has the option to hardwire or to run off the battery, I chose hard wiring so the video doorbell had no downtime

The E340 doorbell records only events. It does not support 24/7 recording.

This was a pretty infuriating experience: the Eufy website's table of doorbell/chime compatibility has no mention of the E340 at all. Also, too often they suppress the model numbers of the chimes in favor of just the model name, which ups the confusion level (minibase chime? add-on chime? ??). Trying to figure out the correct chime was much harder than it s

I had a ring for 10 years, I just switched to Eufy, and I am very happy I did. App-wise, it's a tossup. I am mainly comparing floodlight cameras and doorbell cameras. The Eufy Floodlight cameras E340 are way better technology-wise and so is the doorbell (dual Camera). I have the Homebase three, so I do not pay to record my videos.

I've had this happen a couple of times where it would stop charging the battery even though power was being delivered. The hardwire symbol would disappear and it would stay on battery.

First I was annoyed as the image quality issues with my E340 dual camera video doorbell. I was reporting via email kept asking for the same (footage, logs, settings, try this/that) which they had already asked before and I provided them the same thing already. Showed they are not reading previous emails and correspondence. Really frustrating. But then, th

I really wanted to have it installed today so I said: "Screw it, I'm going to hardwire it with the battery installed and to my amazement, the app was treating the device differently. The green battery icon turned into a green power plug icon. It looks like the videos are getting 3s pre-roll in them since people appearing at the edge of the camera's frame are

it started using so much more power. I tried everything, I contacted support so they pushed an update, resetting it, buying new batteries. Nothing worked, in fact it's probably worse now.

I have the [Video Doorbell E340](https://www.eufy.com/products/t8214111?variant=42629004067002) with the homebase 3 and can say it is VERY good. Even better if you run it wired instead of battery to get the preroll. The subscription isn't needed, and I would almost say you NEED the homebase to get the better detection honestly.

Im not sure why eufy doesnt allow an option to change this in settings as 16vac is more than enough to run the doorbell. Ring and other vendors dont do this because quite frankly its idiotic.

I've had mine installed for about 1 week. It's very cold where I live, it's been -22C every night, so that would mean that it charges slower. My battery percentage after a week is 86%.

I opted to get the Doorbell E340. It can be battery powered or it can be wired to an existing doorbell. It has awesome night vision, two cameras one for general and for packages on the bottom. You can opt to use the cloud I didn't want to pay another subscription so Instead I bought a eufy chime and a micro SD card for it to store the video.
