“This has happened to me twice with two different eufy e340 dual video doorbells. The last one has actually a replacement for the same issue occurring with the original. I had the previous single video version which worked without issue. Seems like these are not fit for purpose and have a design fault.”— Mean-Ad7572 on Reddit
“This is just strange...so I've been back and forth with Eufy for over 3 weeks, and finally got them to send me a replacement (new) e340 video doorbell....once powered up, it worked just fine, as it should. I connected the new one as I did the old one, but the 4 second pre-record option was not there.”— GladAd7351 on Reddit
“If I had known this needed a Homebase and "Mini Chime" to be purchased as well, I would have saved my money.”— fatherted11 on Reddit
“My E340 Doorbell horrible and my S340 outdoor cam just junk when trying to speak to someone. They have no noise isolation when speaking and think that has a lot to do with it.”— Left_Comfortable4044 on Reddit

“My doorbell is compatible with hb3, but for connection stability purposes don’t have it through my homebase and it exposes to HomeKit with the homebase 🤷🏻♂️. It does work though.”— Due_Expert_6617 on Reddit
“I purchased a Eufy E340 Video Doorbell because it claimed it could be hardwired, allowing for pre-roll recorded clips. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to achieve this yet.”— Ok-Coat-2075 on Reddit
“My E340 doorbell works fine with it though guess I just got an expensive chime left now! lol”— cl1ff082 on Reddit
“The E340 doorbell records only events. It does not support 24/7 recording.”— le_avion on Reddit
“Well I ended up buying a Homebase 3. After adding that to the mix the doorbell now just shows the percentage and not the plug icon. I have a ticket open with Eufy and also found this thread https://community.security.eufy.com/t/eufy-e340-video-doorbell-hard-wired-issues/3969948/22 Seems like a known thing”— jaysi1001 on Reddit
“With the Eufy app I get full resolution and the ability to see the different dual cams. Access to the local storage on the Homerbase. The different modes (Home/Away/Off) are easily accessible to make things different like notifications and such. With homekit I get none of that. Just the (reduced quality) video stream and notifications.”— DaisyLee2010 on Reddit
“I really wanted to have it installed today so I said: "Screw it, I'm going to hardwire it with the battery installed and to my amazement, the app was treating the device differently. The green battery icon turned into a green power plug icon. It looks like the videos are getting 3s pre-roll in them since people appearing at the edge of the camera's frame are”— BigBrainAlphaMale on Reddit
“I've had mine installed for about 1 week. It's very cold where I live, it's been -22C every night, so that would mean that it charges slower. My battery percentage after a week is 86%.”— TreemanTheGuy on Reddit
