What ATH-R70xa owners say

I listened to a bunch of highly rated headphones at the last CanJam in NYC and none of them made me want to upgrade from the R70xa.

I got the r70xa as well, but had to get a new amp to give it more juice to make it sing. But man, being so light i hardly reach for my other cans now and using these as daily drivers.

it has this really arfticial, unnatural sound to it that's neither analytic nor is it a smooth, rich entertaining sound

What DT 770 Pro owners say

i'd say go for the Beyerdynamics since their only drawback is their harsh upper register of the frequency and nothing else. For the money, you can't beat them!

dt 770 100% and hyperx quadcast microphone! Best combo ever and "cheap"

The long term durability of these headphones seems to really depend on the climate where you live. When I moved to Florida the humidity and/or heat really caused them to start deteriorating fast.
