TL;DR
Crisps and cooks well at scale and earns daily-driver loyalty, but the basket can't fit larger roasts or whole chickens, and the nonstick surface is a recurring cleaning headache that stays sticky.

48% of 33 verified owners recommend the Philips Premium XXL Airfryer, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

You can also use manual settings on the ‘sensor’ machine. I love mine

I love my XXL Airfryer. But please, Philips, why not fix this terrible design failure?? There is no way to properly clean behind (above) the heat element.

I’ve been using mine for about a year and I don’t have that issue yet, but my basket stays sticky even after soaking and cleaning it.. It doesn’t feel clean but I can’t do more than what I’m already doing.

I went ahead and bought the smart sensing model, but I don't regret my choice at all as I only use the sensing feature and have yet to use manual. Best purchase I ever made.

Great air fryer but I think I got a bad unit as it smokes up and my fire alarm goes off. Purchased it 3 yrs ago, other than that it's a great fryer as u don't have to flip it half way and everything is cooked evenly.

i put my basket and such in the dishwasher, more than a few times. i haven't in a long time since i saw what it did, but that was a good "oops" on my part

I have the Philips XXL and honestly even that is quite small. Just enough for a batch of chicken wings for 2 adults 2 small kids.

Har en Philips premium xxl airfryer den hadde aldri et slikt problem, heller ikke i starten.

i bought it, but returned it shortly there after as the basket wasnt big enough for whole chickens over 4 lbs/large roasts, etc.. It worked fine though

Everything is good, except for having to clean all 4 parts after every session, even for a smallest thing...

describing personal family experience with a Philips XXL model that accumulated baked-on grease and produced dehydrated food

I purchased this unit for my parents at $379, back in 2018 and it's still going strong. Mine is from 2016 and I just used it to make hash browns this morning. Great value at $169.

I feel like this Philips air fryer doesn’t cook as fast as my older OG Philips air fryer

it appears they changed the metal oil collector to a plastic one (polyamide). Quite disappointing, frankly

I also have the 'non-premium' XXL. I bought it on Black Friday 2020, and use it pretty much every day. The XXL is much easier to clean than the smaller Philips 'Viva' model I had previously.

Mine started to make noises these days. Its fan seems to close end of life after less than two years.

Bought this model a couple of weeks ago and am absolutely in love. Bought a couple of accessory set and it's basically going to replace my main oven, which is a straight up piece of shit in comparison.

It drives me insane that this airfryer is so damn difficult to clean up after each usage

r/airfryer▼ don’t recommend

if I set it to 400 degrees it takes 10-15 minutes to reach 370ish and never goes higher.

I have the philips xxl. It's fantastic. We got it initially for the size and the fact that everything goes in the dishwasher. Use it all the time.

I have this one and hardly use it anymore. Too many parts to clean and it emits smoke like crazy. Gotta admit though, made great chicken wings in it. It's not as big as you think, I think my friends Cosori has a slightly larger cooking area and his doesn't produce that much smoke.

Best damn air fryer you can buy. Super reliable. It has an super easy to clean wire mesh bottom with TurboStar so everything cooks tender and juicy with no flipping. It includes a special TurboStar plate so if you’re cooking greasy food, it won’t smoke.
