My newly lupricated 400s bearing was silent for 1 month and started wining again after it. Instead of replacing the bearing I might replace the levoit.

Works great every time. Highly recommended!

its carbon filter has a few times more pellets than filters on these Levoit's, which means it is more effective in neutralizing bad odors and VOCs.

Less than two years in, the fan of the air quality sensor on one of our 400s started making a grinding sound and gave off a burning smell. They sent a replacement right away.

I'm so happy with this purchase, and I doubt I'll ever buy a different brand.

wish my first filter lasted a year!

By the way, I don't find Air Purifiers (I have four different ones) helpful in my case, perhaps the dust particles I am experiencing is larger than the units are built for.

it pulls some pet allergens out of the air. Works fairly well as long as the filter is alright.

I've tested the Core 400S CADR using drawdown and it's at least 95% at 0.3 microns, and it matches Intertek's independent test published on Energy Star (which is also about 95% of nominal CADR of 260 CFM). It works

just bought this, didnt realize how poor my apartment's air quality was until this thing told me. Hopefully this changes things for the better.

I’ve now had two different Levoit Core 400s, Levoit support told me to just refund it

Amazing 15 seconds to clear smoke, great machine

I have a Core 400S, and two Core 300s. They all make the same annoying motor noise.

Levoit came out with a purifier recently (Levoit Core 400S) that allows you to track PM2.5 in an app over time. It's nice to have proof that PM2.5 is at minimal levels, typically 1-2 for me.

I do find the constant ads annoying. When I go on it, I do it to manage my Levoit devices so I don't really want to see adverts for other Levoit products.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I just hate the smell that comes out from the outlet vents of the Levoit 400s.

I can run 2 levoit core 400s purifiers on turbo 24 hours a day/365 days a year and that’s $72 in additional electricity cost.

thats enough for me to never consider buying Levoit again

Very happy with this air filter in my place. Change the filter 2 times a year about under normal operation.

Reddit▲ recommend

It has made a big difference in my breathing (have allergies and asthma). While how it makes us feel is subjective, it visibly catches plenty of dust which I vacuum off the pre-filter periodically.

I believe it’s the levoit core 400s. It’s INCREDIBLE right now. Close everything and just let it run. It is a lifesaver right now.

Reddit▲ recommend

I use 3 Levoits, the Core 300, Core 400S, and Core 600S. All 3 are very good

YouTube▲ recommend

It is very sleek and sturdy. You cannot hear it at all which I love.

Reddit▲ recommend

Tenho um levoit core 400s e consome entre 5.8 a 35W, dependendo da velocidade da ventoinha. Aqui em casa a qualidade do ar está sempre boa, pelo que 99% do tempo gasta esses 5.8W.

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

If you want to save money, don't buy the one with the cylindrical air filter. The replacement filter is very expensive (even the non-branded ones).

Redditⓘ good to know

They also need calibration to work well, and that's a whole separate area of expertise. As well as engineering to make sure air moves them well, and no light is leaking in. From reading other postings, they didn't do the best job

Redditⓘ good to know

Also likely not really HEPA. Also probably cleans air.
