“It’s a fine tent, just not ultralight (although Big Agnes markets it as such), so not really on topic for this sub.”
“There is no problem with ventilation in Tiger Wall since the inner tent is almost entirely mesh the amount of air coming through under the fly is plenty.”
“The big agnes will absorb water, sag, then weigh twice as much after you have to pack it up wet.”
“I tried a friends BA a few years ago and thought it was fine”
“If looking at Big Agnes, I think the Tiger Wall is better. Slightly smaller, but much lighter.”
“Tiger wall is too tight. I’m 6ft 185, it’s a one person tent imo. Sent it back”
“I think it's just a bit too small for my needs”
“I also have both tents. A CS UL3(used when my wife hikes with me) and a Tiger Wall UL2. What Rob says is spot on for those tents. I also have footprints for both and I have survived and stayed dry in some very heavy rains. I think you can’t go wrong with either choice.”
“It's a nice tent, but the mesh door tore pretty easily.”
“My husband and I, plus our 40lb dog, have been using the TW3 comfortably for years.”
“appreciate the semi-freestanding nature of the Tiger Wall. Both are storm worthy.”
“I've got the single Zpack and the Tiger Wall 2 person. They both work great.”
“I've had my Tiger wall for 3 seasons and its as good as when it was new.”
“the tiger wall does feel more comfortable so is nice for short distances”
“We have the ul3 for backpacking. fits us two and our two dogs just fine”

“It’s not a perfect tent, but it’s a great tent.”
“Great tent, super light, but not flawless.”
“I’ve been very happy with my tiger wall.”
“100% the tiger wall for 2 people”

“Here is a way to increase ventilation with the BA Copper Spur or Tiger wall. https://www.reddit.com/r/CampingGear/comments/1f37tc3/high_low_pitch_for_big_agnes_copper_spur_and/”
“Great deal! I hate asking, but I looked online and couldn't find it easily. I assume the Solution Dye Tiger Wall UL 2p has the same floor area specifications as the regular Tiger Wall UL 2P. Correct?”
“Right now I have a zpacks plexamid and a tiger wall ul2, but considering selling the tiger wall for an xmid. I don't have a double rainbow, but I also don't have a need for a freestanding tent right now.”
“Tiger Wall is only semi-freestanding, in case that matters to you. I would 100% go with a 3p tent for two people over a 2p. Especially with rectangle pads.”
“The tiger wall ul 2. I plan to use it for the AT next year. I used a fly creek for both my pct hikes and it was great. I used a duplex for almost all of the cdt and I definitely didn’t love it as much as I hoped I would.”
“Use polycro painters plastic instead. You can cut it to size really easily. It will do the same thing and cost you about $3.”
“The warranties are different. I have had success working with Big Agnes lifetime for the product. Durston seems to have 2 years and Gossemear is 1 year. You probably won't need it but it is good to know the warranty is there if you needed it.”
“Thanks, the Strato looks great but might be a bit over budget unless I can find it on sale, and thanks for the info on the ventilation on the Big Agnes, although it's looking from everyone's kind advice that the x-mid might be the best shout.”
“I have the 3 person version of this tent. the pegs that it comes with are remarkably light as well. worth seeing if you can buy replacements if you're using this tent for backpacking. if you're just truck/car camping, then use whatever pegs ya got.”
“How does internal space compare between the two? I am wanting to camp with my partner and her medium sized dog.”
“I got a great deal (like $150) for a Tiger Wall UL1 when they had to dump a lot of stock because of PFAS and I only bought it to have a spare shelter for friends who wan to backpack. Trekking pole tents and tarps are better across the board for how I backpack.”
“Thank you for the detailed answer, this helped a lot! :) For now, I’m not too concerned about weight, so the extra protection for my gear is a bonus in my eyes. I know it’s pretty expensive for what it is, but at least for now, I just wanted the “no worries” option.”
“I’d go with the tiger wall, more space for what looks like similar weight of the Copper Spur”
“Yes both have the same dimensions! Floor Dimensions: 86 x 52/42 (head/foot) inches”
“GG the two will be the lightest by a good bit (1lb+) but is a single wall tent. Xmid2 will be the biggest and is a double wall tent. Big Agnes Tiger Wall is the only option listed if you want a free standing or semi free standing tent. Ventilation will be similar for all of them.”
“Big Agnes Tiger Wall UL2 currently on Expert Voice for $250.50.”
“Either BA tent. The difference between them is minor.”
“If you don’t mind the weight penalty the copper spur is nice and gives a bit extra room. Second would be the tiger wall, last the hornet People love the hornet but it’s pretty tight for two and the roof slopes quite steeply which makes it more claustrophobic. Although that route of the tiger wall is sure nice.”
“Hiked the CT with a TW without a groundsheet and ended up not using a single patch. You don't NEED one, and if water gets in between the tent floor and the footprint, it will more than likely push through. I let the dirt do its thing and soak up the rain rather than having the footprint act like a rain catcher.”
