In owners' own words

given the price increase, and the fact it still cant fit into jeans/pants/shorts pockets, I decided to go the GRiiiX

When I originally started shopping it was X100F through X100VI. Youtube eventually led me to the GRiiiX and from there I never looked back.

I bought a Fujifilm x100vi, but returned it due to the size and weight and its too complex if you're just looking for simple camera with film simulations.

I have the x100vi but I think it would be best if you try full frame or medium format instead of getting this camera. I think the image quality between the APSC Fujifilm cameras are quite similar
jeremysesame on Reddit
I own the X100T and also lusted after the X100V and X100VI BUT I hate the handling of the new X100’s. Fujifilm oversimplified the back of the camera by taking away the control pad and leaving you with a little nub for controlling the autofocus point.
Pulseimages on Reddit
while using it lacks character and just is no fun to use, the optical viewfinder is unnecessary because it doesn’t show how the camera is really focusing for highlights or shadows and it bugs me so much. Sold it
SpikeJoestar98 on Reddit
Yeah, so far my impression and experience with Fujifilm cameras is not good regarding the quality of their products. This is my second x100vi.

Initially really liked it but then got bored of film sims and my Zf takes better pics so sold it, honestly my Zf with a pancake isn’t much bigger but it hardly misses focus unlike this one so I don’t miss it much.

Got the X100VI last year and was not overly impressed with the images compared to my X Pro1 So I sold it and recently snagged a new GR iiix.

Given that batteries typically will outgas once 95% capacity is reached, it is clear that these batteries are just made to be cheap and disposable, with a large space for the cells to expand over their lifetime. Quite disappointing for longevity
Minoltah on Reddit
as soon as you have to deal with autofocus and stabilization for video the x100vi and really any fujifilm camera just falls apart sadly, I just got my x100vi a couple months ago
CrashOverride1432 on Reddit
In my opinion it’s a deeply flawed camera, though it’s one that would fit your use case quite well. I bought one at lunch and ended up scalping it and going back to the V instead.

Setup quirks & things to watch for

Not complaints — practical notes from owners that didn't affect the score.

It's a little bit of a jolt to go from the X100VI to the OM-5 or vice versa.
Insinkerated_Spoon on Reddit
X100VI I picked up because I got an allocation at launch as hype and demand mean these things are still elusive at RRP. Still in early phase of seeing whether I will keep this camera as although the usability is fantastic, I'm not sure I'm enjoying the images from the new X-Trans sensor as much.

I often struggle with grains in SOOC JPEGs because then with a tighter crop suddenly the grains are massive
tone_deaf_ninja on Reddit
I noticed this happening on my Fujis from time to time. I’d get these awful blown out highlights
AnemiaShoes on Reddit
never touched raw files on this camera 📸 that’s why the highlights are a little blown away
