Fujifilm X100VI

Based on 143 comments across 4 communities
TL;DR
The X100VI is a beloved grab-and-go compact that owners carry everywhere for street, travel and family moments, won over by its film simulations, great out-of-camera JPEGs and pure fun factor. It's not without real quirks: autofocus can lag, the menus frustrate, and there are recurring complaints about IBIS rattle and warmth, a build that feels softer than the X100V, and middling battery life. It suits someone wanting a portable, characterful everyday camera who can live with a fixed 23mm lens rather than a do-everything workhorse.

61% of 143 verified owners recommend the Fujifilm X100VI.

This is a Fujifilm X100VI with a custom "film-like" preset and a pro-mist filter. Directly from the camera, I haven't edited any of these.

They are great cameras and I love using film recipes to be able to shoot SOOC but the hype is insane. No camera and brand would be able to meet those expectations.

In my opinion it’s a deeply flawed camera, though it’s one that would fit your use case quite well. I bought one at lunch and ended up scalping it and going back to the V instead.

I notice that I don’t use the x100vi as much anymore since I got the Q. Auto focus is a bit slower but it’s really not bad once you turn off face recognition

as soon as you have to deal with autofocus and stabilization for video the x100vi and really any fujifilm camera just falls apart sadly, I just got my x100vi a couple months ago

This was my first trip since switching to Fujifilm and getting my X100VI so I am still getting used to the camera, love it so far.

I have the x100vi but I think it would be best if you try full frame or medium format instead of getting this camera. I think the image quality between the APSC Fujifilm cameras are quite similar

I now walk around at all times with the X100VI crossbody on me

I did finally get my back ordered x100VI and I saw little improvement from 2.0-2.10, but since I use it almost always in SAF, I'm keeping it for now.

I got to play with one at a Fujifilm event and it was admittedly a fun camera to shoot street with. But it definitely wasn't worth the price.

Personally, yeah, I recently got a Fujifilm X100VI and wish I had this when I went to Germany and Switzerland last year

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I bought a Fujifilm x100vi, but returned it due to the size and weight and its too complex if you're just looking for simple camera with film simulations.

while using it lacks character and just is no fun to use, the optical viewfinder is unnecessary because it doesn’t show how the camera is really focusing for highlights or shadows and it bugs me so much. Sold it

But the X100VI is the camera that sold the most in recent history due to the whole Fujifilm experience.

What I like about this camera is that it is even more compact, extremly silent and it has a tilting screen which makes shooting from the hip on the street easy. The film simulations are very cool. Not sure if I keep it or not though.

And my X100vi is super easy to bring in, and no one has ever flinched at it being used.

I agree the joy of shooting with the X100VIcwould not be so much greater than shooting with the X100V to be worth the price.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Initially really liked it but then got bored of film sims and my Zf takes better pics so sold it, honestly my Zf with a pancake isn’t much bigger but it hardly misses focus unlike this one so I don’t miss it much.

I always take my Fujifilm ( now I the X100VI) with me no matter the trip.

however, I am a bit bitter towards Fujifilm for not providing a filter ring and hood on a camera as expensive as the X100VI. Especially the filter ring is crazy to me, given that you basically need one to make the camera weather-resistant.

Yeah, so far my impression and experience with Fujifilm cameras is not good regarding the quality of their products. This is my second x100vi.

Got the X100VI last year and was not overly impressed with the images compared to my X Pro1 So I sold it and recently snagged a new GR iiix.

The X100VI is everything hobbyists want: beautiful camera, compact and lighter, weather sealing, great image quality, fits in with a casual setting, no fussing about with changing or carrying lenses, no extra cost of lenses. Just grab it and go. It's a very simple shooting experience (in a good way).

The 40mp sensor has served me just fine for how the camera is used, which is family events and a quick grab and go.
