Regarding cloud based mesh systems, we have a Tp-Link Deco BE63. It seems to pass traffic on the local network, and even lets me manage the system from the app locally, when the Internet is down.

So far not a single hiccup in terms of latency or speed that a human would notice. Testing the wireless backhaul on its own showed only a few ms of latency difference compared to connecting to the more far away/slower speed wired node, but increased throughput by 4x (from 200 to 800mbps).

The mesh works perfectly fine even with older 2.4ghz only devices like switches and stuff. Range is also very good. I have 1,250mbps internet service and I get around 800-1000 when connected to the 5ghz band (since 2.4 is almost always slower) but if I connect to the MLO network (WiFi 7) I get nearly max speeds my isp offers.
