TL;DR
Reliable pet-hair help and good obstacle avoidance for many, but a large share fight a loud self-emptying dock, weak mopping and suction, clumsy navigation, and declining performance over time.

54% of 91 verified owners recommend the iRobot Roomba j7+, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

The J7+ Combo supposedly had great "poop avoidance" features but it ran over the poop and smeared it all over our floors on two separate occasions, lol.

Cleaning performance is excellent, slick app, and the robot is ingeniously easy to clean. However, mapping our 1000 sqft obstacle free hardwood floor unit took almost 2 days

Being a new owner in 10 days and wow, what can I say this thing is near perfect in what I need.

the roomba, despite having worse navigation, seems much more reliable in terms of not getting stuck and emptying the bin every time

I have the one. If you expect miracle you should use common vacuum cleaner. If you are lazy like me you will tolerate imperfections as Roomba provides.

Currently have the iRobot Roomba J7+ and I'm just fed up with it's pretty pathetic excuse for mopping.

I’ve been using a Roomba j7+ to vacuum my entire upstairs for 8 months. It’s fantastic.

I ended up going with the IRobot Roomba J7+ as it was supposedly better with pet hair; a big concern for me. I like the unit but i feel it doesnt work as well on carpet as it does on hardwood floors

We went from an iRobot Roomba J7+ and Braava M6—which we suffered through for nearly two years—to a first generation Roborock Q Revo, which we’ve now had for a year. The iRobot machines were so clunky and annoying to use that changing over felt like we had catapulted a decade into the future.

The iRobot Roomba j7 Plus is infuriating.

iRobot Roomba J7+: Been happy with it. Mostly minor issues but sometimes the error messages dont make sense. The base means I dont have to empty the bin.

I have an irobot roomba j7+ I got refurbished off eBay direct from irobot and was as good as new (was a return or something) and was a decent chunk cheaper, so i highly recommend doing that.

It does tend to get clogged with pet hair. Separately, it does not do well AT ALL if it gets wet even a little bit.

Having just purchased this a few weeks ago, and completely loving it so far.

I get this issue whenever I install new rollers. Thought it was because I was using ones from Ali express but I just installed new oem ones and had exactly the same thing happen

iRobot Roomba j7 on carpet - 50db iRobot Roomba j7 on hardwood - 70db iRobot Roomba j7+ base emptying - 87db So it’s still quieter than an upright vacuum by a good margin. 50db on carpet is crazy quiet.

I would also recommend the iRobot Roomba J7+, it’s the current top of the line and Roombas are known for being extremely long lasting and easily repairable. I eventually moved away from iRobot because I don’t like their navigation (they still slam into furniture fairly regularly, even the J7)

It took less than a year for our Roomba j7 to trash our shoe molding. It runs over the corners of the shoe molding and runs over the top of it when it runs in a straight line.

Love my J7+, it's been cleaning our house for two weeks now and it's doing great!

My roomba j7 is my second iRobot vacuum and it will be my last iRobot vacuum. I’ve seen much better reviews for other brands on the market while researching my next purchase.

It also has many advanced automation features and feels amazingly well-built. Unfortunately, its performance on low-pile carpet and bare floors is notably inferior to older models.

I then returned it and exchanged it for an iRobot roomba j7 and noticed an even worse quality delivery for robot vacuums and became quite disappointed with iRobots quality.

we recently got an iRobot Roomba j7 during Black Friday and it’s life-changing! No more constantly picking up dog hair whenever I accidentally drop something on the floor.

It's pretty good, but I don't like how it bumps into furniture, I thought the camera was supposed to avoid that too but I was wrong. It's still a big help though

J7, but yep. It doesn’t have the time or space to slow down so it will hit something harder than usual. But again, it’s not every time it cleans.

r/roombaⓘ good to know

Day two with the J7+ here and there is a funny squeaking noise from the drive wheels and the front side brush motor.
