Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra

Scored on 158 verified owner verdicts, from 1,612 comments read across 6 communities
TL;DR
Most owners say it cleans and mops their floors beautifully and call it worth the high price, with very little day-to-day upkeep. The recurring gripes are obstacle avoidance that still tangles on cords and cables, units that get stuck or break down (mop/arm jams, LIDAR errors, flooding docks), and hot-water mopping that never reaches the advertised temperature. A fair number also find the mopping itself underwhelming, leaving streaks or dirt behind.

61% of 158 verified owners recommend the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

it has been amazing so far. All I have to do is clean the air filter on the dust bin every 3 days and change the bag out every 3 weeks or so when I refill the detergent. Come home every day to perfectly clean floors with extremely minimal maintenance.

It’s… soooooo expensive tho…

Mine broke after 2 months. Vibrarise module jammed, but nothing was jamming it.

My Roborock is second to none… well worth the high price tag.

IDK man at this price point I wouldn't expect gimmicks. Seems RoboRock thinks their fans will buy whatever they push out. I'm not convinced

Yes i agree it is a very good robot but i hope they fix some of the issues. Like incresing the strengh on the side brush

I don’t feel bad about spending so much.

it will sell for itself. Insane especially with matter support

Roborock provides no service after the warranty has expired! Good luck

Its an upgrade in the right direction, just not a massive massive leap.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Roborock is lying to consumers pretty horribly with their suction numbers.

I love that this is a million times more useful than the Amazon Astro robot.

Happily keeping S7 MaxV with water refill system for the time being.

I just bought the Roborock s8 maxv ultra with drainage and refill. I have about 1500ft of hardwood and 500ft of carpet and the Roborock is a beast. Best part is it plumbs into my bathroom sink for fresh water and emptying dirty water so I never have to touch it.

Will 100% be holding off on upgrading my S7 and S8.

It's crazy that something that should be able to vacuum to a insane price of almost $2.000 is so bad. The hype is real with this one.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

my impressions is RR is going to add new features without fixing the little downsides of the past models. What a pity!

Awesome video Reed! I can’t wait to get my hands on the self emptying, self filling unit.

having seen this review, although as you say it’s by no means a bad robot, I’m now thinking that I’m very definitely going to wait until the Dreame X40

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I hate the fact that they now use bagged systems instead of the bagless system.

This thing is so cool!

So, in conclusion, it's not PERFECT. But is it still not the best out there?

Redditⓘ good to know

I have had the s8maxv ultra since they came out it actually got stuck once it was my fault. It picked up a flat plastic bag and jammed

Redditⓘ good to know

When I first got my S8MaxV ultra I only added distilled water, but it gets cumbersome and expensive really fast. The robot is using quite a bit of water, after 2 runs the reservoir is empty. Now I'm adding tap water, no difference at all.
