it's a product that works and works well enough and it's easy to use for most customers and we get almost no support calls for thermostats after we install a nest

I replaced both the sensi and ecobee with Google Nest 4th Gen Learning thermostats. The Google home app is crap, but it’s a matter over WiFi device and you can add it to whatever smart home platform including home assistant easily.

I only noticed my nest was overusing the AUX heat when my power bill came in at $350 last month!

I bought 2 new 4th Gen to replace my 2 3rd Gen Nests because they're really pretty and new..... And because I'm a big sucker for new things. Do you actually need these? Nah.

Only 1 setting applies to all days of the week - I dont have to go day by day like you seem to be stuck doing

I just did not like the Nest Gen 4. The programming was always a pain

There was no such option in the fourth generation nest thermostat

We have a 3 story house with 4 sensors. You just get the chance to pick which sensor it tracks to. Unless you have a multi zone AC, it'll just blast the entire house until the sensor you pick gets to the desired temp.

More than anything, these are so significantly better than the garbage thermostats the house came with.

I don't have any issues with Google Home controlling our Nest devices

They are nice devices, but no brightness adjustment is insanity.

dude...this thing is so dim...my old one must’ve been at least 3-4 times brighter. I know this is higher resolution, etc but you can hardly see it during the day, and it's still pretty dim at night in my hallway.

although it’s enabled on the app to change and update based on the outdoor temperature, it does not appear to work or update by itself. I’m always having to go in and manually update the RH that I want through the app.

I have absolutely none of the issues you describe. Not a one.

i had this issue and was solved by replacing the nest (it was a dud). The nest gen3 are not great imo. I have gen4s now and it’s way more stable, esp in my non C wire dual transformer setup.

My hall where this is is very bright and it’s hard to see the screen

I've had every version since 2011 and only v4 allows you to disable the schedule and hold temp.
