“This is what I’m using now Heat Storm Phoenix HS-1500-PHX, Infrared Space Heater with Attachable Feet, Remote Control, Energy Efficient-750-1500 Watts, Gray Floor or Wall https://a.co/d/9K17BLf”
“Heat Storm Phoenix Infrared Space... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0771LZZT3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share here’s the space heater”
“Too ironic. I have 2 of these Heat Storm heaters and came here to find out whether anyone has successfully added them in HA with on/off and temp control. Have them in each of our garages, one in an insulated garage where our outdoor cats sleep.”
“Any luck with this? I had the same issue and dumped Tasmota on it but now can't seem to get it configured properly.”
“I have three Heat Storms added to Home Assistant working as HVAC. Unfortunately Tuya has kicked everybody out of their cloud account, so I'm waiting review to see if my trial to the cloud service will be extended. https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/80278”
“Any luck with Tasmota? Was hoping to take mine off the cloud with Tasmota.”
“The issue with the heater only being able to be used as a switch is caused by the Tuya API, not HA. You can follow these instructions to test it for yourself and see the device type is set to "switch". I have emailed Tuya support to request an update, but it seems unlikely that it will be fixed.”
“I’m going to google some more to see if I can find any scientific studies on the prolonged exposure to infrared rays indoors. Will report back if I find anything . Ps. If somebody on the internet stumbles upon this thread in a year or two from now, and has similar concerns as me, don’t hesitate to message me”
