MAGNUS Pro

TL;DR
Most owners are enthusiastic, repeatedly praising the Magnus Pro's tank-like build quality, its standout cable management (single power cord, routing tray, wire-management scheme), and its stability even at max standing height, with many calling it the best desk they've ever owned and a worthwhile long-term investment. A meaningful minority, though, report real quality-control problems on arrival, from bubbled tops and stripped screws to dead control panels, and a notable cluster of buyers in the UK and EU say they were shipped the outdated v1 leg design instead of the advertised v2 with no proactive fix offered. Complaints about slow customer service and RMA hassles, the desk's substantial weight making it hard to move, and desk depth feeling too shallow for some setups round out the recurring gripes. Overall sentiment still leans heavily positive, but buyers should factor in the risk of receiving a defective or outdated unit.

76% of 87 verified owners recommend the MAGNUS Pro, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

What owners like
  • Exceptionally sturdy, tank-like build quality that owners say feels premium and solid · 10 · 11%
  • Standout cable management system (tray, single power cord, wire-routing) that owners call the best they've used · 7 · 8%
  • Feels stable even at max height, with only minor, easily-dismissed wobble reported by most · 6 · 7%
  • Worth the high price as a long-term investment, holding up well over years of daily use · 4 · 5%
  • Height-adjustable standing function genuinely used and valued day to day · 4 · 5%
What owners flag
  • Units arriving with manufacturing defects: bubbled/warped tops, stripped or tightened-to-hell screws, misaligned frames, or a control panel that won't power on · 7 · 8%
  • Reports of being sold the outdated v1 leg design (visible cutouts) instead of the advertised v2, with owners in the UK, Sweden, and Finland saying Secretlab didn't proactively fix it · 4 · 5%
  • Frustration with customer service, warranty coverage, and slow or repeated RMAs when something goes wrong · 4 · 5%
  • Very heavy (some report ~68kg), making it a pain to move between rooms or up stairs · 4 · 5%
  • Desktop depth/size can feel too shallow or small for some setups, a few owners cite it as their main regret · 3 · 3%
Who it's for
A great fit if
  • WFH/gaming users who want heavy-duty cable management built into the desk
  • Buyers who value tank-like sturdiness over a lightweight, easily-moved desk
  • Multi-monitor or dual-PC setups needing a large, deep work surface (especially XL)
  • Owners who'll standardize on Secretlab's magnetic accessory ecosystem long-term
Look elsewhere if
  • Anyone on a tight budget, since owners consistently flag the high price
  • Buyers in cramped rooms, since the desk's depth and weight cause fit and moving complaints
  • Those wary of shipping damage or slow support, given repeated reports of stripped screws, bubbled tops, and RMA hassles

They sent me a desk with stripped screws that were tightened to hell, can’t believe the kind of crap they’re sending out with how expensive the products are

MacRumors Forums▲ recommend

All in all, the SecretLabs MagnusPro is a great deal. It is less expensive than I would have thought (or would have paid), sturdy and the wire-management scheme is awesome.

I actually ended up putting it together for “evidence”, but the desk did not even wobble as much as in the video, more so like the “newer model”.

Reddit— neutral

I find the desk depth (70cm/27.6) good for my setup and fits well for my height for being 6 feet tall

Reddit▲ recommend

The one I got seems solid at max height, of course there is some wobble but it doesn't bother me at all given the height... At 70 it's rock solid, which is the height I use most of the time.

I recently ordered the same desk about the day before Black Friday and had the same problem as you when I first got it.

They are a dogshit company with dogshit products, I have had to get parts RMA’d 4/5 times now

Полностью металлический, легко в нем прятать провода, он с регулировкой высоты и не шатается. Да и смотрится в целом красиво. У меня он тоже есть

I also do have some static from the chair and maybe the desk that blanks my monitor here and there.

Reddit— neutral

My only problem with the PC holder is it blocks and exhaust fan so I just kept it on my desk lol

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

they sold me a shitty desk with a giant bubble in it and said it's normal

Reddit— neutral

it does wobble a little at Max height when you max it out - but reasonable I guess?

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

They also sent me a desk that had there screws stripped and damaged.

Reddit— neutral

it is nice to raise the desk when working on stuff under the desk.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Yes I regret it. Mainly because of desk depth.

I have been using a Secretlab Magnus Pro standing desk for over three years, and the experience has been fantastic.

Reddit— neutral

Heavy as others have mentioned and for me not big enough.

Reddit▲ recommend

I love mine, but doesn’t excuse bad customer service. If you get a proper working desk it’s the best investment.

Reddit— neutral

I put locking casters on mine, best change I made to it.

Reddit▲ recommend

loved it so much I immediately sold my Vari and bought a second Magnus Pro along with a second Titan Evo.

Reddit— neutral

had it now for 2 years. And the wobble isn't so bad.

Reddit▲ recommend

one of the main reasons I bought this desk over something else was because of the cable management tray.

Reddit— neutral

I mean it’s OK it’s nice but not worth the money.

Reddit— neutral

I wasnt happy getting up stairs.

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

Yes. I have a 49 inch super ultrawide Samsung Odessy G9 and still have room for another 27inch if I really wanted to. The desk is massive, its more of a question if you have the room space

Redditⓘ good to know

I ordered mine in december 2024 (black version) and its the old one aswell, what a bunch of scammers Edit: from Finland If i pay 1,5+k for the desk and all accessories i dont expect shady shit like this

Redditⓘ good to know

All my screws came in a series of plastic baggies that were connected to each other, did yours come with a series of baggies and those are just missing?

Redditⓘ good to know

I got mine finally set up today https://preview.redd.it/sz371o4l3g8h1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c608243e47e451b0f6c203dd7d4cecdbde4c6a24

Redditⓘ good to know

Iv had to print a little plate for it, just to lift it 30mm and I cut out a circle in the middle and I don’t get any vibrations coming from it now

Redditⓘ good to know

get the locking casters before you put the desk together. Putting them on after its been built and you have all your stuff on it already makes it a pain. Mind you, the instructions do say remove everything but I'm'just lazy.

Ordered Black XL from Sweden at June 20, got old legs. Don't have the box anymore as I don't have space to store it so can't send it back to get new ones. Can't they just send new legs or does the new legs not work with old top?

Redditⓘ good to know

Mine wouldn't power on either. I had to pull the panel in the middle to find that neither power cable was plugged into the main box

Redditⓘ good to know

I run this setup with no issues. Line ->ups>desk>monitors and pheriphrals. I connect my pc straight to the ups and not through the magnus tho, safer this way. Already saved my butt in a few occasions, just don't cheap out on the ups!

Redditⓘ good to know

Yeah im curious aswell, i got a white version non xl and I can pick left or right for the cable leg is that the newer version ?

Redditⓘ good to know

I’ve always wondered about the wobble and thought maybe it was normal. I found this Reddit post and read through the thread.

Redditⓘ good to know

I received a Magnus Pro XL on monday (FR) and it didn't have holes in legs so I suppose it's a v2

Redditⓘ good to know

I have the desk going into a UPS and everything else going into the desk. It’s fine as long as you get a UPS rated for the wattage you will pull. I also made sure to get a power strip that does not have a surge protector, which was harder to find than you’d expect.

Redditⓘ good to know

can confirm i have also been sold a v1 instead of a V2, this applies to all uk customers btw.

Redditⓘ good to know

The video clearly shows it, that's how I learned I had v1: ▶️ https://youtu.be/vsV6zU7uZ70?t=52 If your Magnus Pro XL has solid legs with no holes on the inside, you probably have the updated version. If you see the cutouts (little circular holes), it’s the older one.

Redditⓘ good to know

The screws all came in a foamed accessory kit with the wrench needed for them.

Redditⓘ good to know

Well shit. Bought mine less than a month ago and I've also got the old one...

Redditⓘ good to know

The screws missing in the photo came pre attached in my case.

Redditⓘ good to know

I just got my Magnus XL, luckily enough it all went together well. It makes no sense for them to be fighting you like this. Its an obvious manufacturing fault that can be easily rectified. It's not a good sign, a premium company should have premium support. That's 50% of what makes a brand premium in my mind.

They sell wheels now! I bought them and it’s much easier to move around. I’m surprised I survived moving rooms before the wheels to be honest lol. As for moving homes, you should just take it apart and rebuild it! I had the same thought two days ago but I’m going to take it apart and reassemble when that time comes
