Amazon Fire HD 10

Based on 439 comments across 2 communities
TL;DR
Owners mostly agree it's a great-value media tablet for the money, with a solid 1080p screen and long battery life that make it fine for streaming, reading, and handing to kids. The consistent complaints: Fire OS feels laggy and underpowered, there are ads on the lock screen plus Amazon bloatware you can't fully remove, and you have to sideload the Google Play Store because many apps won't otherwise install or run. Most fans only love it after de-bloating it; for anything beyond basic content consumption, people lean toward an iPad or Samsung.

57% of 439 verified owners recommend the Amazon Fire HD 10.

You can unload this amazon junk in seconds, makes it stock android and a very decent tablet.

I was instantly reminded why Android on tablets is trash. All the different app design languages, the shitty UI scaling, for example, are terrible. No UI optimization. It's just a complete dumpster fire experience. I packed it back up and will be giving it away.

How is the Fire HD 10 Plus software performance? Not outstanding but good enough.

I’m using an Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus tablet with wireless Qi charging. The tablet works great as a dashboard to control the house using Home Assistant.

These Amazon tablets are hot garbage for anyone over the age of 12, but for younger children, they're actually very good.

I got an Amazon Fire HD 10-inch, and the performance is lacking. Very laggy and needs rebooting often to free up processing.

My setup is a cheap 2019 Amazon Fire HD 10 that I got for around $100...With the google play store sideloaded it’s the best bang for your buck. I been cloud and console streaming with amazing results. Just make sure you are using a 5ghz connection cuz without that it’s trash

Underlords doesn’t seem to run on the Amazon Fire HD 10, at least when I try to run it an error message comes up after downloading updated game files.

I have Stadia side loaded and it plays pretty well for a significant time before the unit get a bit hot and needs a break.

Amazon Fire tablets are "okay" for light gaming but if you're a hardcore gamer, Amazon Fire isn't for you. I purchased my Amazon Fire HD 10 specifically for reading digital comics and digital manga

The Fird HD 10 doesn't have enough RAM, IMHO, at 3GB. I'm always waiting an annoyingly long time to switch between apps.

After getting the Play store and a new launcher it ended up being perfect; I'm typing on it now.

I'm using a fire hd 10 which is probably the most tolerable version of it and little things like that are so damn annoying.

I'm running HA on a Fire HD 10, which is just the right size. I use the WallPanel app to display the HA dashboard, which can also wake the tablet when motion is detected by the camera

I have bought 4 Fire tablets (the very first Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HDX7, Fire 7, Fire HD 10), every of them were disappointments and I decided to stop buying amazon Fire tablets.

I have a surface go 4gb ram/64gb storage and a Amazon fire HD 10 current model. Just sold my Samsung tab s2. The fire hd is slow and has mediocre battery life for a tablet.

the Amazon Fire HD 10 works great with it but you just need to install the Google Play Store on it and adjust the resolution that Shadow uses in the app settings

I have my HD 10 set up the same way that the poster at the top of this discussion does and it all works fine.

Has anyone come across this issue on mobile where the slayer helper misses the last digit (task is in the teens and streak is in the 200's but doesn't show this) Device is Amazon Fire HD 10 if that's relevant!

I am using WallPanel rather than Fully Kiosk and it's great. Literally couldn't be happier, especially with how cheap the tablets were and the motion sensor for waking the screen up works perfectly.

I like my HD 10 for what it is, it’s a cheap tablet for consuming content. My iPad Air 3 blows it away for everything else, however, but the iPad was a magnitude of order more expensive.

I disabled pretty much every amazon service that isn't required on my HD 10 and it made a huge difference. Google play services slow it down again slightly but I still think it's faster than stock.

I use a Fire Tab 10" for my wallmounted dashboard.

It helps as well that I recently moved from Amazon Fire HD 10 to iPad 8th gen, which has been a night & day experience to using a tablet.
